My lab mix had persistent hot spots on his back legs and his sides that he would keep biting and scratching. I could apply this directly to the area twice daily. I was excited to try the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot & Itch Relief spray because it not only helps to hydrate and calm the skin where it is itchy, but it can also help soothe any pain with the lidocaine and hydrocortisone. Since you have to make sure that your dog doesn’t lick the product, you might have to put on a cone or a dog shoe until it dries. Stella would probably still bite the shoe off, so a cone works best for us. While I hope that my dog doesn’t need to use this product often, I am happy to have this in our house to be ready if she does have itchy spots from allergies or irritation.
