This is, by far, the most effective product I have ever used. It is like a magical, miracle formula that heals wounds, both major and minor, quickly and cleanly. I always make sure I have it on hand - there is nothing else that even comes close.

Bite sore

I bought this because my pup had been bitten by a tick and the bite was starting to look infected. I used an antibiotic ointment and it helped healed a little bit but not too much. I started looking up products and found this. I used it on my pup and after less than a week the bite closed and is disappearing.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Vetericyn's Hydrogel is our go-to product for treating wounds and skin issues on our indoor-only rescue cats. Recently, our longhaired girl was suffering from flea dermatitis, and had some spots hidden deep in her fur where she had bitten and clawed herself raw. I was out of Hydrogel, and had to order some. It took a bit longer to arrive than I'd hoped, but once it was here, we were able to get it on all of the sores and scabby parts on our poor kitty. She is part Ragdoll, so her fur is dense! Within 24 hours, we saw a significant improvement in her skin. This is worth every penny of the price, as it is the only OTC treatment we have used that can help heal our kitties' wounds. When I can't get Hydrogel, I use organic coconut oil. It works, too, but it takes a lot longer, and the cats don't like the scent of it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 10 of 14 Questions

Why does it smell like bleach? It is normal?

  1. I did just sniff the hydrogel, and there is a faint odor of bleach. But no worries, I've used this a lot on cats, even around their eyes, and it does seem to help wounds heal...

Is this safe to use on a cut on the inside of my dogs ear?

  1. Yes! Our Hydrogel formula can be used in and around the eyes and ears without any concerns. Depending on how dirty your dog's ears are, you may want to first clean with our Ear Rinse or any Vetericyn Plus liquid formula prior to applying the hydrogel.

My dog has clipper rash on his genitals would this help?

  1. Our Vetericyn Plus hydrogel would work well on rashes or abrasions caused from clippers. Apply 1-2 times per day and there is no worry if the product is licked or ingested.

Will this work for inflammation around toe nail on dog?

  1. I think it could help.

Is this safe for a hamster?  Mine is recovering from a mite outbreak and his skin is so red and he keeps scratching it.  Thanks!

  1. Thanks for your question. All Vetericyn Plus products are safe to use on all animals at all life stages. The hydrogel is likely the best solution for your treatment needs. If the area gets dirty after applying the hydrogel, you can also utilize our Wound & Skin care liquid instead, and is equally effective.

What's the difference between the hydrogel version and spray version of the antimicrobial for wound and skin?

  1. Hi Gucciumma. The liquid formula is a great topical spray that helps clean, rinse, and soothe irritations and wounds. The hydrogel is a thicker formula that gels on contact to coat and protect the site. It's great for hard to reach areas or places where liquid may run off. We recommend using the products together for best results – first clean with our spray and then coat with our gel. Both formulations are antimicrobial, non-stinging, and help reduce the chances of infection. Thanks for your question!

The spray says hydrogel but comes out like a thin liquid is it supposed to come out like that when you spray it on or is it supposed to be thick

  1. Make sure you shake it before applying per instructions and depending on the size you buy you may have to turn the nozzle to the correct setting to spray.. the bigger size has two nozzle settings..

My dog has been licking his paws excessively to the point he has open wounds and raw skin can I use this on him? He also has some open wounds on his nose and keeps licking and scratching his mouth excessively, would this be a good treatment for him?

  1. Yes it works well for healing and is safe for your dog. However I would take him to the vet to resolve what he may be allergic to. It could also be anxiety. Good luck to you and your sweet doggie.

Hi. My huskies nose is peeling. Can I apply this to his nose to help heal? Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Yes! Our Vetericyn Plus Hydrogel is a great topical solution for nose trauma and is safe if licked or ingested. Nose ailments can sometimes be difficult to heal if the root cause is allergies or the dog constantly licks. Depending on the location, you can sometimes use our hydrogel with a wound dressing to protect it as its healing. Good luck!

Can I use this on Leopard geckos

  1. Thanks for your question! Our products are safe to use on reptiles including Leopard geckos. Depending on the skin ailment, a combination of our liquid and hydrogel formulas are best to use in conjunction.
