This is an amazing product for many different issues from dry, itchy skin to cuts and abrasions and even some fungal & bacterial problems. It helps the skin to heal twice as fast as usual. I run a racing stable and pretty much just carry it around with me all morning.

My 2 indoor cats like to roughhouse which often means one or the other ends up with minor scrapes, which then become points of surface irritation, especially around the neck & shoulder region. As anyone with cats knows a minor scrape or scratch can become a major skin issue quickly, with vet visits & expensive treatment following to clear it up. Vetericyn Plus Wound Care (Hydrogel) quickly stopped my cat from scratching & re-opening his surface neck abrasion. (Please note: I say surface because I don't think this would suffice in care for any deep wound.) For surface abrasions & irritations this stops the pain & itch FAST! I used it as follow up after Vetericyn Wound Care. Also note: being a gel it does tend to clog the spray nozzle so I just put a dollop on some cotton wool & applied/dabbed onto affected area. Soothed it immediately!

Better than anticipated

Bought this with the hopes of it helping our 13 yr old lab mix who had a tumor rupture. All vets we were calling wanted to run tests on her that we couldn't afford vs euthanasia. We just want the pain to be minimized for her. I am impressed that it actually is doing more than we expected. So glad we are adding this to our first aid kit for our dogs. Wished you would have had larger bandages too, but Walgreens solved that issue.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Helpful?

Hydrogel Spray

MurphNTurf

I wish I would've bought this sooner! Murphy is a hard player and a little hunter that often winds up with all kinds of scratches from the brambles in the woods. His latest wound was a little scratch on his leg, and I figured I'd try this out and see how it goes. It healed beautifully and much quicker than I expected! He had been licking it like crazy before I put it on, and I thought he's keep licking after, but he left it alone! It must've felt better already once I sprayed this on. The gel stayed where I sprayed it and didn't rub off on any of his blankets from what I saw either. I love that this can be used on multiple animal species and isn't harmful if ingested (especially because Murph sometimes likes to lick his feet and legs, especially if he gets a scratch). This is definitely going to be a staple in Murph's first aid kit from now on!

Questions

1 - 10 of 10 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

Can I use Vetericyn in my dogs ears ?

  1. While this product is safe for use around and on the outside of the ear, anything deeper or inside the ear should be avoided.

Can I use this for inside a dogs ear

  1. Hi Big I. Hydrogel is designed for use on topical skin issues not for problems inside the ear. For issues inside the ear please use Vetericyn Ear Rinse. It's a liquid formula that flushes dirt and debris to help relieve itch and irritation, reduce odor, and help lower the chance of infection. Thanks for your question.

Does it have an expiration date?

  1. Yes, it has an expiration date. However, I have used the same bottle for well over ten years beyond the expiration date. It is always effective. It is a miracle worker.

I notice it is recommended to use hydrogel with the wound and skin care spray for best results...but comparing active ingredients, both have same---.010 hypochlorous acid in the gel, and ,012 hypochlorous acid in the spray...why would both be needed?

  1. Hi debg66. We recommend using the liquid to first flush and clean the wound site and then applying the hydrogel to protect and provide moisture to the wound. Cleaning and then protecting the wound will give your pet the best chance at faster healing and minimizing the risk of infection. Alone, the liquid or hydrogel will do a fantastic job at helping wounds heal, and together they are even better! Feel free to contact us at customerservice@innovacyn.com if you have any more questions. Thanks for reaching out!

An this be used on guinea pigs

  1. Hi JeannieMarie. Yes you can. All Vetericyn Plus products are safe to use on all animals at all life stages. Thanks for your question!

My dog is allergic to fleas and has red spots will this help with that

  1. Hi Tabby1234. Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Wound & Skin Hydrogel will help relieve itch and irritation caused by bug bites. We recommend first cleaning the area with our Would & Skin Care liquid and then using the hydrogel to protect and provide moisture to the affected area.

Will this product help with getting rid of mange from my dog?

  1. Hi MichelleJT. Vetericyn Plus works great for many skin irritations, hotspots, and can also be used to relieve pain and itch. The root cause of mange will need to be determined from your veterinarian. Vetericyn is not indicated to treat or cure mange. Thanks for your question!

My dog has itchy red paws will this help?

  1. Hi Joseph_23. Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Hydrogel will help protect, moisturize, and provide soothing relief to topical issues on the skin and paws. The hydrogel sprays on and gels on contact to adhere to the affected area and cool and protect while helping to keep the wound clean and free from potential infection. It's also safe if licked or ingested so you can apply as needed. If you have any more questions, please email customerservice@innovacyn.com. Thanks!

Can Vetericyn be used on. Open tumors on dog?

  1. Hi Nan734. Vetericyn Plus antimicrobial hydrogel care will help clean, protect, and provide soothing relief to compromised skin resulting from tumors but the root cause of a tumor requires veterinarian attention. Please consult with your veterinarian for more serious issues. If you have any more questions please email us at customerservice@innovacyn.com

My dogs paw pads are burnt. Will this help?

  1. Hi Alexissw. Yes. Vetericyn Plus Hydrogel products are designed to soothe and help the healing of skin irritations like burns. They're safe for everyday use and will help provide protection and relief. If you have any more questions, please contact customerservice@innovacyn.com
