Hi! I am a college student working on a "smart" dog food bowl. Our project aims to address epidemic of dog obesity, as 56% of dogs are overweight; this statistic indicates that there is room in the market for a food monitoring solution that would improve pet health in the long-run. The bowl would come equipped with a scale/sensor connected to an application that recommends servings. Do you think both water and food should be weighed? Or just food? Is there a value in weighing water like food?
So my puppy had trouble gaining weight due to a Food allergy and so he’s been on a bland diet of fresh boiled chicken and rice and one small scoop of cottage cheese and feeding twice a day. He was 61 pounds when the Vet last saw him and wanted to definitely gain weight so I just wanted to ask for a standard poodle/Newfoundland mix how’s his body shape. Also how do I weigh him?

We bought frontline plus for dogs 55 to 88 pounds by mistake. She is around 110 pounds. We tried one dose of it and it did little to help with her flea problem. It’s been almost two weeks and we are seeing quite a few fleas. Would it be alright to use one and a half doses of the frontline plus 55 to 88 pounds after the month is up? We just don’t want to waste the money we spent on the medication. I looke it up and 1.5 doses of the large dogs equals the same dose as the extra large dogs medicine.
Hello, I have a two-year-old Staffordshire mix that weighs 44 lb (20 kg). She is moderately active and currently doing intensive behavioural training. We have her on a daily 1,070 calorie diet (as recommended by another vet) and feel as though she's slightly underweight. I have been wondering this for a while now. But I recently (Dec 5 2018) adopted a lovely 1 year old male cat who I was told weighted 10lbs when i got him. Now they did tell me his food (hill science diet adult 1-6) but not how much he was eating. So I followed the guidelines on the bag which said 1/2 cup for a 10lbs cat. He always goes crazy at meal time so I'm worried am I underfeeding him? Also he looks like he's lost weight but I also don't have a scale to weight him and brushed recently
