I have a diabetic dog. He has been on insulin for about 10 days. He has long hair, so it is difficult to make a tent of skin before the injection. I do not feel the injection is being done properly. I have had training at the vet, but when I do it at home I am not sure he is getting the medicine. Questions: 1. do I position the needle parallel to the body or at a 45 degree angle? 2. The needle is longer than the skin is deep. Do I push the needle all the way in? If not, how far? Thank you
My dog has had diabetes for about 5 months. He is on Vetsulin. The vet has done about 4 glucose curves, and the insulin is increased each time. I am wondering if my vet knows how to effectively treat diabetes. Question: How can I find a vet who is experienced in treating diabetes?
My 11 1/2 year old mini Schnauzer is suspect to Cushing. We have had blood tests and 2 ultrasounds with both inconclusive. He is a diabetic male on 14.5 units of insulin. Why are these expensive tests inconclusive? Thank you. Rob Hawkins Florida
CARESHARE Is 1 ml enough for my 5 yr old 10 lb cat for pain relief? He was involved in a cat fight and sustained superficial Injuries but I can tell he is hurting a little. Sorry, I thought I put the name of the medication. It's Gabapentin. It was given to me by my vet to decrease my cat's anxiety when taking him to checkups.
My dog weighs 25pds recently was diagnosed with diabetes about 3 weeks ago and has been upped from 6 units to 7 units and still drinks a lot what does that mean

Both of my dogs were prescribed Apoquel for allergic dermatitis & chronic itching. It has been very successful, but at a cost of $2.23 per tablet it's very expensive. One of my dogs had chronic ear infections requiring 2 separate ear surgeries (ear flap hematoma & myringotomy). Since starting Apoquel NO ear infections. Are there any resources for lower cost of this medication? Your comments on long term use of Apoquel would be appreciated.
My 8 yr old cat was just diagnosed with diabetes. How often should his blood be tested in a day? How long before he's "leveled or regulated? Can I test only his urine? If so, how is that done, and is it accurate?
