Questions
What is the self life of one bottle of 100mg?
Can my dog take Tylosin while taking Prednisolone?
- Thank you for your question. Be sure to understand the dosing schedule that is prescribed by your veterinarian. Also, discuss what type of effects you can expect to see. Talk about what other treatments may be used in conjunction with Tylan. Notify your veterinarian of any other medications or supplements your pet is taking, and also if your pet has had any reactions to previous medications.

dosage
- Yes you can. This container gives you a good amount of powder. Use a 1/2 tsp. mesauring spoon and I put it into a meatball size amount of wet dog food. The labeling on this product says it's for Chickens, swine, etc but I called my vet and he says this is the right product to use it just doesnt say for dogs for some reason.

I use tylan powder 1ml/0.63gm from my vet. I don't see this information on this product. How do I know it is the same?
- Thank you for your question. The Tylan powder that we sell contains 2.5-2.7 grams tylosin per level teaspoonful (5 ml), which amounts to 0.5-0.54 grams/ml. There are many other tylosin products on the market. Based upon the information you have provided, it is likely that this is a different product than what your veterinarian has dispensed. We would recommend contacting your veterinarian and discussing whether they feel it is appropriate to switch to this product (if that is your wish) or if it is recommended to continue the current product. tah

How does this product affect the immune system please. I have a cocker Spaniel
- Thank you for your question. The Tylan Powder is an antibiotic used for colitis and chronic diarrhea. Tylan may also decrease the symptoms by affecting the immune system in the intestine. This is not an immune booster as it helps manage certain symptoms from these diseases. The Nutri-Vet Immune Health Chewables for Dogs, item# 84571 is an immune booster. How long can my dog stay on Tylan Powder?
- My dog has been on it for a year - with great improvement in her GI condition. I am not a vet, so I can't answer specifically. I would advise following your vet's counsel or seeking advice from another vet.

My cat will not eat food with Tylan powder in it. How else can I administer it?
- an idea suggested by my vet and loved by both dog and cat. mix Tylan in small amount of water, then mix honey to taste.I put it in a syringe and they lick it while I place it to the inside of their mouth. They love it. I also place the ho ney mixture on food, but then the smell has to linger in my house until the food is gone.
