Tangs are commonly referred to as surgeon fish due to having a sharp spine that looks like a "scalpel" at the base of their caudal (tail) fin that is used for protection, use caution when handling. Adults tend to live alone in the wild, so they should not be kept with fish that look similar, like other tangs. However, they should be peaceful towards most other tank mates. Species in this genus have a large number of bristle like teeth that are used to scrape organic matter off the reef and substrates. The Two Spot Bristletooth will grow to be about 8" in size. Full grown adults of this tang will need around 100 gallons; however, you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. At first glance they may not seem very colorful with their orangish brown bodies but the blue lines and spots really help it stand out. They inhabit the coral and rubble areas of the deep lagoons and seaward reefs of the Indo-Pacific.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email. We ship for arrival to the customer Tuesday through Friday and Saturday for an extra charge where available.

We recently bought a Betta from a chain store pet shop. He is currently in a 10 gallon tank with a heater. He’s been eating and swimming around, acting fine. The first day we had him I noticed this bump. (Didn’t notice in the petstore but hard to see in those cups they keep them in) Here’s a side shot. Looks like one tiny fluid filled bump, size of a scale. Any ideas?
Hi, My fish has white spot which is expanding. It also has something around mouth. Spot looks white with small dots in it. I thought it is an ich outbreak. Currently tank is treated with Sera omnipur (30% of recommended dose). It is big pufferfish. thanks for your help Nikola
My fish has a spot near the head that is missing scales and I'm not sure if it is because of an attack of because it is sick... the stomach seems to be sticking out a little and there is a little spot on the tail. Again I am not sure if this is because of an attack or not. Also, all of my fish have been more active and are constantly swimming in up and down motions or side to side like they are looking for something. I have had them for about three weeks.
Hi, I just got a fish from a friend and I don’t rlly know anything about that fish, it’s rlly small(about 4cm) and I want to know the breed of the fish and how to take care of it. Thanks you
I noticed my roundtailed betta fish has this strange lump/bump/spot on him. His tank is at the optimum environmental levels, he swims and eats without problems. I'm new to having a betta fish, so I'm not not sure what this kind of spot means. Hopefully the pictures will attach this time.
My 8 year old comet esco is getting these white spots on his back. He is a white spot survivor, but this does not look like white spot. In the pictures below, their is a shiny pink/ white growth on his tail, head back fins ect. He is eating and swimming. Will this affect his health or are they like freckles and will it spread to my other fish. Please help A. S. A. P
Hi, I'm seeing some tiny white spots on my fish. What should I do? Is there anything that I should put in my tank?
I just received Spooky in place of a different algae eater that I had. Spooky is a baby. And is a bristle nose algae eater. And I'm not very sure on the way on how to care for this fella very well yet. I am talking to a breeder about the little one. And it's to young to know gender too. Please help me learn what it needs.
Yesterday, while cleaning it’s tank, I noticed she had 1 white dot on its wen and black on her tail. Today I noticed another 1 white dot. So now she has 2 white dots on her wen and black on her tail. She’s acting perfectly normal, eating normal and all. What do I do? I got her from petsmart on 1/12/19.
Which category male flower fish add with couple of yellow blood parrot fish(male and female both are) in a (42L×7w×18h)inch water tank ? Can u guide to me this successful breeding process ? In a currently I have only two yellow parrot fish.
I have two male fish guppies. One of them seems to have like a wired black spot on its belly (in the middle of its body). Is this normal? Could it be a disease? Any cure to this? I’m worried. Also it has a little bit of white on its tail :(
Where can I get a brislenose pleco? Their are none for sale on the Petco website.
