To achieve a salinity level of 32-35%. (psu), dissolve 35 ml (approx. 37-40 g / 1.3-1.4 oz.) of Tropic Marin Syn-Biotic for every liter or 0.5 cup (approx. 140-150 g) for every gallon of water in a container, stirring continuously. The specific gravity of the sea salt solution should be 1.025 to 1.027 at a temperature of 25 degreeC / 77 degreeF. The prepared saltwater can be used as soon as the salt is fully dissolved. Note: When checking the conductivity of freshly prepared Tropic Marin Syn-Biotic saltwater the conductometer will show ca. 10% low results, because the contained organic substances affect the measurement. We recommend measuring the specific gravity with the Tropic Marin Hydrometer. Slight cloudiness is normal at this stage and indicates that the bioactive substances are taking effect. Changing up to 10% of the water every week using Tropic Marin Syn-Biotic helps to keep the water quality within the parameters most important to the delicate marine life in your aquarium.
If the product gets into your eye please rinse consistently with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if wearing and continue rinsing.

Can you use sand from the beach to add to your freshwater aquarium, if its sanitize?
I just purchased imagitarium aquarium salt for my betta. I have never used aquarium salt before and It says on the label that I can combine it with sprinkling in a little bit of food once a day. Does this mean it is safe to add the salt in with my fish in the tank? What process should I take so he doesn't become overwhelmed? Also does this help prevent/get rid of fin rot? Thank you!
Hello i have a fish tank 45l with 11 fishes in it (Shubunkin , opaline gourami , honey gourami , trichogaster etc) . i added the fish a week ago and tested the water and it was fine.today i see that 2 of my Scalars aren't eating like everyone else , so i tested the water . Everything was fine except for Nitrite levels that was 3.0 - 5.0 ppm. I changed 25 % of the water and added Easy Life Filter Medium and after some hours i tested again the water quality and it was the same I also added salt

first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks!

Goldfish with swollen side. I read that it might be able to be treated with epsom salt. Did not want to do without checking on the accuracy first.
I have recently used medication in my 50 gal freshwater fish tank with one 22 year old comet goldfish in it . the meds cured my fish but must have killed my beneficial Bacteria as now my established tank has been going through another nitrogen cycle. It's been four weeks now the ammonia us back to zero so is nitrite zero BUT my nitrates are now spiked about 80 and the water is cloudy. Did 2 partial water changes over the last 8 days. Will a UV sterilizer help ?? Please advise. Thanks Lina
