Misleading Description
This cannot be assembled indoors. It requires professional assembly outdoors with power tools. I have been trying to return it to Petco, and they do not want to take it back. I have filed a BBB complaint about it.

Love this unit, however
Received the package in a damaged state. Made repairs and assembled. Ease in assembly was wonderful. Looks great save for issues from damaged in freight. Door challenging to latch because it drops and must be lifted to get latch to connect. Within 24 hours of assembly outer shelf on left broke and fell to ground when 7lb kitten jumped up on it. The shelves need to be reassessed as not strong enough with current design/engineering. Frustrating. We have to come up with way to reattach and it’s challenging. I had read reviews before I purchased saying this happened to others as well. Still want to make it work as piece looks nice. Anyone who purchases must reinforce shelves so they won’t break before allowing pet to use.

Cat house for two.
Have two outside cats. They both use it. So nice to have lots of room for them to move in. Very helpful on a rainy day. They have a dry place to nag and eat.

Not the quality I expected
Had some broken parts and had a lot of bruised area's. I would have expected better for the price I paid. I decided it was easier to fix the damage than return the item.

I like the finish product. The only downfalls for me was that some of the screws didnt want to go in and it doesnt tell you in the instructions, but i would put the cat ledges that are on the outside, on before i put my walls together. Once you put your walls on its hard to get the screws in because you cant get to them.

- no. you would do better with a chicken coop that has an attached run. that is what we used to get our cat used to our new place when we moved. look for something like this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/trixie-natura-chicken-coop-with-outdoor-run they are a little more expensive, but will keep kitty safe

Did anyone have any trouble with stray male cats spraying this house? I have a naughty stray male that just ruined two of my cloth insulated cat houses. I need something that he won’t spray or something to put on it to keep him from spraying. Please help.
Are the windows open or is there plexiglass for the windows?
- The windows do not open individually at all. They are all part of one single swing out door which comes with two latches to lock it back into place for winter months or rainy days.

Are cats able to move from level to level from the inside or only from the outside of house?? It would be helpful if there were 3D photos to see how this thing is accessible for people/cats
- Yes the cats can move from level to level within the house as well as from the outside. I have two cats, one weighs about 18lbs and the other about 10lbs. One likes the top floor while the other prefers the ground floor. The second floor is mostly used as a go between for mine but that’s likely because I have a blanket up top and on bottom but not the middle. I will say that the construction is pretty shotty but sturdy enough and works fine. We have had it a while too. I don’t think it’s worth what they charge for it but i would buy it again because my cats are in it all the time. Hope this helps.

Can the bottom fit a litter box? We use the breeze without a hood- 20.5 inches in length x 15.8 inches wide x 10.1 inches inches in height.

Is this house insulated? Can a dog house heater such as the hound heater be mounted inside this house? I want to buy for feral cats we care for.
- Hello ksjyoung: Unfortunately this particular cat home is not insulated; we do however carry an insulated cat home. It is item # 2945180. We do not recommend mounting any heater inside this house as it could cause a fire due to it being made of wood. Thank you for your question.

The inside dimensions of the door opening is 7.5" x 8.5: The top shelf inside is 29" x 11.5" The second shelf inside is 29" x 23: The large door opening is 22" x 38" The bottom flap door is 6" x 6" Hope this helps you determine if your cats will fit inside.
