Got this for my cat and it randomly snapped in two, hitting me in the head and bruising my wrist. I’m glad my cat did not get hurt, but it was close.

I bought 3 months ago for my 3 months old small kitten and was pretty happy with it until it just snapped in half for no reason. Great nobody was hurt.

It was not quite as adjustable as we were hoping. It isn't really 8 to 9 ft, so much as 8 or 9 ft. There is an extra section to add if your ceilings are 9 ft, but you can't really adjust much for the in-between sizes. Unfortunately, either our ceilings are slightly taller than 8ft or the cat tree was a smidge too short. We had to use shims to make it fit. Now that it is up, our cats love it.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and installed it this past weekend and was initially very excited. But even though i followed the directions and did a good job of tightening down the post, the tree was not even close to being stable. This is an accident waiting to happen.

First of all it didn’t fit my 8 foot ceiling. The description said it would fit 8-9 ft ceilings. Nope. So I couldn’t use it in the room I wanted. So thought I’d put it upstairs since I have 9 ft ceilings there. However, one of the bolts used to connect the poles had defective threads, not stripped, but defective. Called to ask for new bolt. Waited 3 weeks. Called again and was told the agent did not put the order through. So just gave up and RETURNED.

I bought this cat tree for my cat as I live in a really small space. The cat tree was perfect, until one day outside my room I heard a loud snap and my cat meowing nonstop... The tree has plastic pieces on the inside that allow you to put it together, and it snapped off and cracked. I've had no problems with the tree up to this point, and my cat is only 6 months old, relatively small...

I have a very small space behind a door where a cat tree will fit in my daughters room and this is the only cat tree with sisal scratching posts that fits that space, so it gets 5 stars for that alone. One cat loves this and the other uses it from time to time and both are large cats. The poles/posts are all sisal covered with the smaller sized sisal/rope, which both cats prefer. Carpet covered poles are awful and don't last very long as they are always covered with fake fur type carpet and cats rip that stuff off fast. The platforms, box and base are covered with that fake fur/carpet material and I should knock off 2 stars for that cheap crap, but am so glad to find a perfect fit - so I won't. Assembly is difficult the first time, but a breeze with the second (replacement) tree as I knew exactly what I was dealing with. The top piece that compresses to the ceiling is not a spring but a very long all tread rod and takes forever to screw into the last post and get the right length and then screw tight to the ceiling. Should knock another start off for that, but won't. I only have height for two platforms and leave the third one off. I take the one left over post and screw it onto the leftover platform to make a free standing scratching post. Works great. I also take a couple of the other old posts and replace other cat scratcher posts with them as well. So a bonus is freshening up other scratchers and a new free one. The corner I have to work with is 21" from the corner to the one door. 19" from the corner to the other door frame, and 89.5" from floor to ceiling. One thing different about this cat tree from the last time I purchased it is there is one post that is taller than all the others and is used as the last post, so that changed up my screw length, but no big deal. You could use this post in-between the other platforms for a wider space between them and use one of the shorter posts as the last one - that's up to you. I also use two brackets mounted to one of the platforms and then screwed into mollies into the wall. So it's super sturdy! Other wise without extra support it is a little wiggly.

Only rec'd/assembled yesterday, so can't provide long term use. Shipping was quick.Materials seen sturdy without weighing a ton. But it was missing some hardware. I found some at home I could use. All 3 cats tried to use it as we were assembling it. Now they're pretending they're not interested, because...Cats. I recommend this product.
