My stray loves this shelter
I have had this shelter up for 2 Winters now. I live in Oregon. Our winters are not like the East coast but we have wind, rain,hail, snow and very hot summer days. I have a outdoor rated heat pad inside in Winter. I have had a neighborhood stray spending nights. She stays warm and dry. I put a small bowl of dry food inside for her and a heated water bowl underneath. There is plenty of room for a large cat or 2. She only uses the ramp. I have no wild animals terrorizing her.

Sturdy and feral cat love this
We are one the second winter with this house. I put a self warming cat blanket in it for the feral cats and they love it. It is pretty sturdy and has weathered great. We do have 3 insulated shelter for the colony we are caretakers. All are used and have different pros and cons. I would buy this again in a minute!

Garbage
The material is MUCH lighter than expected; I don't see how this will keep a cat warm outside in the winter. Most of the homes for the screws are missing. I'm incredibly disappointed and will be returning.

decent, not quite five stars
This was easy to put together, but the way the manufacturer had aligned a couple of parts was a bit off, such that the alignment of the roof panels is noticeably-wrong, with the right side panel shifted down a bit farther than it should be. It wasn't so far that the roof ridge wouldn't seal (or at least, I think not, I guess we'll find out when it rains), but it seems like they could have better quality control.

Door openings very small, not inviting. Ramp very narrow.. Disappointing for the price. Very heavy. Too messy for indoor due to material used. My pets do not like it

This cat house has worked well, but my dog broke the right front cat door. The trim pieces are still good, but the plastic door is broke where it hinges. Where can I buy a replacement?

Is this cat house sturdy in the wind?
- I have had this up for 2 winters. My back yard can be like a wind tunnel! This little shelter doesn’t move at all. It is against my house but there is no wind break.

What form of insulation is used in this item and what R value does it have?
- I don’t know anything about R value. I think their is some kind of foam if I remember. I put the top of a foam cooler under the heated pad. I was going to tack up mylar but I didn’t need to. I live i Ontario, Oregon. We got snow. Not like the East but it was freezing for a few weeks and my stray visitor seemed dry and warm. The outdoor heat pad I have only gets warm when she is on it. It only gets warm. But it seems to do the job. I have always put a little dish of dry food inside for her. I have a heated water dish(which gets used by the birds and cats). There is plenty of room inside. Probably could accommodate a couple cats.

Would it be possible to put a corded heating bed inside?
- I purchased this house 2 winters ago. I put an outdoor heating pad inside with the plug coming out the back exit. I have had it up in rain, wind, hail, snow and sun. It went together fairly easily. The past 2 winters it was occupied by a neighborhood stray. She only returns in Winter. She comes in and out via the ramp. I have no wild animals. Seems she has staked claim. Nothing has gotten wet inside unless it is from her fur bringing damp in.i like that it is off the ground so the rain and snow doesn’t get in. I like that one side of the roof opens up making it easy to access the interior and lets me air it out. I bungeed the entrance door to stay open for her. I have been extremely pleased with everything about this shelter.

What are the dimensions of the inside space? What are the dimensions of the overhang. Is it deep and high enough to place food and a water underneath?
- You could fit food and water underneath. The water would freeze in winter so you need an outdoor heated bowl. Wet food freezes fast, too. I put a bowl of dry food in the shelter area. There is plenty of room for a good size cat or 2.
