Just an update on our original review of the Trixie Giada post: We have two ragdolls now, and they are both growing fast. The Giada Scratching Post is holding up very well and our kitties love it!

My 4 month old Sphynx kitten loves it!! It was a major pain to put together and to figure out which screws went where but in the end it was perfect.

This is a great cat tree and works well for our new ragdoll kitten. The box came with all the parts and a piece of paper that said instructions on how to put the tower together were available online. Really? They couldn't just put the directions on the paper that was included? We decided to put the tower together using the picture on the box as a guide. It took a bit longer this way, but we got it done in about 40 minutes. After completing the tower and putting it where we wanted it, we decided to reverse the location of the top bed so our kitty could look out of the sliding glass door. Overall, this is a wonderful cat tree. The black velvet material is soft and the tower is sturdy. After a week of just looking at it, our kitten tried out the hammock and finally climbed into the top bed. We highly recommend the Trixie Giada Tower.

It seems sturdy and fine, but the "instructions" consist of a small diagram. Importantly, you need to put together the bottom tier cat cubby FIRST or else you will end up taking it apart and redoing everything at the end. There is one "reverse" screw but it is identical (including length) to three other regular screws. You just have to try them all. Also, no parts are labeled. I figured it out, but it took at least 3 times as long as it would take to assemble a larger Armarkat one so I will stick to that brand in the future.

The instructions to assemble this model weren't exactly idiot-proof, but we did figure it out. Trixie Giada is the sturdiest piece of cat furniture I've ever purchased. So often the base is a weak particle board that breaks down as you tighten screws and bolts. This 44"H model handles both of our 11lb. cats without so much as a wiggle or crack in any base. Also, the fabric is easy to vacuum.

Overall, I really like this. It looks great. My cat likes it. My only “complaints” are that the top post doesn’t feel entirely sturdy. Makes me a little nervous. And the cave at the bottom was a little difficult to assembly. You kind of had to jam to posts inside of it - which I did not realize there were posts inside and I don’t love that. Definitely makes the cave smaller.

The design is really well thought out & affordable.

This is a great piece for a cat that loves to lay around, especially in the hammock.I bought this for my 4-year-old 11 pound cat about a month ago. She absolutely loves the hammock and has used it every day. The second level does not provide a lot of room for her to get to the hammock on - she tends to jump up to the hammock from the floor. The top tier is not the sturdiest, so she does not use it as much as the other parts but she has been up there a few times. The bottom enclosure has 3 support poles in it causing it to lose some of its area, but my cat still enjoys the space. It was relatively easy to assemble, and I would purchase it again.
