Not for chewers

Coach Peace

Its great for a little while, unless you have a chewer like myself. He was engaged for about 2 days and then he started to take the pegs off to chew them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Well made good puzzle

Very sturdy puzzle. Unfortunately my puppy figured it out quite quickly but it was fun watching her figure out how to move the pieces to get the food. She now zooms through it but still enjoys it preferring it to her regular food bowl

Yes, I recommend this product.

My Dog plays chess for treats

I was sent the blue and gray chess game but I thought I was getting the orange and red game. My dog learned it very fast. When it comes to his treats he's a little genius.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Disappointed

This is a lot more challenging than I anticipated it to be and I wish the description explained that this interactive toy is a harder skill level for dogs who have never used one of these types of toys before.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Toy That Can Be Reconfigured Several Ways

My corgi loves this and easily caught on after a few minutes. I would give this 4.5 stars, but that's not an option. I like that you can change the placement of the sliders and the "chess" pieces so that it's not the same each time. One thing that I don't like about it is that there are grooves along the sliders where bits of kibble can get caught. The colors in the photos were also not the same as the unit I received. My dog is not a chewer, but I could see where a more playful dog might chew on the removable pieces.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

Are any of your toys suitable for a large/giant breed such as a St. Bernard?

  1. Hello Mibradygrl: The activity toys are based off of intelligence level and not necessarily size of animal. If your pet can operate the knobs, flaps and cones by picking them up with their mouth and pushing with their paws, they should be able to use them. If, for some reason they are unable to, most vendors have a return policy so you can return it to them. Hope this helps. Thank you for your question.

Would this be suitable size-wise for a Great Dane? She's very large for a female, and her paws and nose are substantial.

  1. Jenn80 - Thank you for inquiring about our chess toy for dogs. Unfortunately, I think our unit will be too small for your sweet puppy. Thank you for asking.

Can you get replacement parts if any of them get chewed up or otherwise destroyed?

  1. This product comes with a 1 year warranty. You may contact Petco to see if you qualify for a replacement part, if necessary, within that time frame. Thank you!

Would a chihuahua puppy be able to pick up the pieces and play with this game?

  1. The sliding parts are easy to move, so I don't think that would be a problem. The pieces that need to be lifted would probably be too big for a chihuahua's mouth--but those pieces can easily be knocked over so I think it would work. My big dog doesn't grab, he just knocks them out of the way with his nose.

Where is the product made?

  1. TRIXIE's Chess activity item is made in China. Thank you!
