This is a good alternative to a plastic cone, but there are a couple of flaws. The biggest one is that the little gizmo to adjust the neck and keep it tight doesn't actually lock/close, so I had to use a mini binder clip to hold it in place. Otherwise I imagine this pillow could be easily removed by a wily cat. The little ear flaps are cute, but they tend to move to the front and get into food and water. If you put the ear flaps in the back though, the loop/fastener for the neck is right below my cat's chin which he then wants to fuss with. On the plus side though, the fabric has held up fairly well and seems to resist/repel surface stains. I bought this on sale, so it was definitely worth it for me, but I don't know if it would be at full price.
