I am looking to get a bigger cage for my 2 year old conure. Currently I’m in the market to buy one online that is advertised as a “solid metal cage” coated with “non-toxic hammertone paint” which included stainless steel dishes. I was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek. The seller is YaheeTech, which is based in Ontario California but customer pictures show a box with "Made in China." Mostly 5 stars, with lowest rating be 3 stars. Is non-toxic hammertone safe?
Can I have a list on what to get and feed a amazon parrot. Also what size cage? Most like would be open if I were up there. Would it keep a bird awake if I had an audio book on in the room my bird is in at night? She would be covered. Would an amazon parrot fly out if my door was open? I am scared if I get a bird that a door would be open down stairs and the bird up stairs but a door down stairs would be open! Would that happen? Is this a big enough cage for this bird?? Male bird Tipu age 6. Cage covered with sheet at 9 pm. He was sleeping on perch with head put in his back feathers. Switched on light. He turned his head to the front but with a tilt and kept looking up. Usually he doesnt like being touched but didnt move when I did with the head still tilted up. Held him, got him down from perch. Stood in a wobbly way with toes positioned weirdly. Was wobbly with the weird head tilt for 10/15 mins. Sprayed drops of water on his face. Looked normal after 10mins
Hi there! I have a budgie named Pluto, who is about six months old and untamed. A few minutes ago, I was caught off off guard and accidentally left the cage door open. Pluto flew out and although I caught him, he managed to wriggle free. He climbed onto the cage and one of his toes was caught in the bars. Im not sure if he hurt it, but Im worried. He's slightly holding it away from his other toes, and I'm sure he must be hurt. What do you think? (He's the green bird.)
Can I take a shower with a Amazon Parrot? What temperature range water is safe? Do I need to give them a cuttle cone? What to chew one? How often do I have to take them for beak/wing/nail trim? What size cage? It would probably be out a lot because I am home most every day. Only gone on Fridays. I want a bird that can do almost everything with me and not too small. About a medium bird? Any recommend birds? I’ve never had a bird but I know a few people that have birds. Right food? (See pic) thx!
My bird tried to escape this morning, with its fully clipped wings. Pls share we tips to prevent its escape.
I am going to visit family for a week and I have to take my bird with me. I saw online that it helps to get him used to the cage for awhile before trying to travel with him. I didn't know I should do that until now. It's only an hour away but I want him to be safe. Should I try to get him in a travel cage (which will be a challenge bc I don't think he would trust me enough to pick him up other than by perching) or use his regular cage? Any other ideas? I know to not have loose toys in the cage.
I went to clean my budgies cage last night and it flew and hit a metal cabinet really hard, it bled on its beak, so I washed the blood away gently w/ a spray bottle that I use to bathe them. it's not straight tap water. it got stunned, it won't grab my finger until a few minutes after and it barely grabbed on the perches, I placed it on the floor of the cage with millets in front of it and went to a friend's house. Vets are closed due to COVID-19. Will it be alive by the time I go check on it?
