I am trying to help a 13-year-old cat put on weight. He has never liked wet food but I remember helping an older cat with health problems to get some calories by feeding A/D wet food. Which dry food is best for an indoor, seven year old cat, low in calories?
I've been feeding my cats Candidae food, dry hairball control kibble and wet food 2x/day. They like the dry, but LOVE the wet. However t's quite expensive and that brand only carries 3 oz cans of wet food which makes calculating feeding amounts difficult. I want to make sure I'm feeding them the best and most cost efficient way. What would you recommend feeding them, and how, and how much? Do their weights (attached photo) seem healthy?
I have a 5 year old, 75lb Catahoula leopard mix. He doesn't seem to like any dog food. Ever since he had a liver issue a year ago, he's been weird with eating. Before he would gulp his food down. He also seems to have a sensitive stomach now. I've tried merrick LI with goats milk and crumpled treats on top. It worked at first very well but now he doesn't want it. I read they need at least 50% protein, I give him wet and dry which i know is not good, but lots of wet and freeze dried chicken too, vit with dig enzymes. I have an 8 month old 10 lb BIG maile kitten.He is very long and has bit paws. I assume he is still growing. How much should I be feeding him: 3 wet 3 oz cans and a little dry food - more or less? I can feel his spine but not his ribs. His wet food is 10% protein, usually chicken or chicken & liver. All is no grain. I keep reading different things.
