My Labrador Retriever was diagnosed with hypothyroid disease in June 24. Her TT4 results were 5.6. In November, her results were 5.8. Are these indicative up hyperthyroid disease? I'm concerned she shouldn't be taking Thyro Tabs. She is currently taking 0.9 mg per day down from 1.2 mg per day. She is approximately 70 pounds.
A veterinarian visited my pet and prescribed Thyroid tables 75mcg for my pet. After giving tablets i can notice that pet is panting a lot, drinks more water and reduced food intake. Are these common for pets taking thyroid tablets?
My dog has thyroid and is currently consuming medicine thyronorm 100mcg twice a day. I have attached his March 2019 and September 2019 thyroid reports. Could you please tell me if it's improving or not? As per my current vet, it's improving and has aksed me to continue the dose. My family doctor thinks the dose is too high. My dog weighs between 35-40kgs and is a labrador.
Hello I have 86lb pitbull she is almost 4 yrs old about 3-4 mo ago I took her to the vet because I found blood in her urine the vet did blood work and she said she has and over actic thyroid and prescribed thyro-tabs 0.7mg shes always drank a lot of water and had to go out to pee about 5-10 later she is peeing more now is that normal
Where can i bye levotiroxina?
Hi! Tony is on methimazole and his most recent labwork Says his thyroid level is 1.8. Is this is a normal level? I ask because he lays by his water bowl a lot but his kidney levels are good but I was told hyperthyroidism can cause extreme thirst...1.8 is not considered hyperthyroidism right? He also takes amlodipine for High blood pressure. Thx!
My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyrodism 4 weeks ago. She was put on 1.0ml of methimasole twice a day. After 3 weeks i took her for blood test. Her thyroid level dropped from 9.0 to 4.1 and blood cell count along with kidney function were within the healthy range. My vet wants to see my cat's thyroid in the 1-2.0 range and increased her dose to 1.25ml twice a day. I worry about future side effects of methimasole. Will surgery be the best option, given she is healthy otherwise and we have 2 cats?
My little terrier who is an 11 year old and 10kg has eaten a lump of meat with 2 euthyrox 1mg tablets in it, meant for my other 7 year old, 20kg dog. Is this ok or will there be side effects, non noticeable so far.
Kaido is on Prednisone for Addison's Disease. He is also on Thyro tabs 0.8mg and just recently had a T4 done and his values are still very vey low after being on them for a year. Is it the Addisons or Pred counteracting the thyro tabs? And should I continue on with the Thyro tabs if it's not doing anything? Plus my vet told me to hold off on the Thyro tabs for another week but reconsider after. But if the Thyro tabs aren't working, what alternative does he have medication wise?
Hi Tony’s methimazole dosage was just increased a few days ago (on Wednesday) because his thyroid levels in his lab work showed an increase from 3 months ago. How long will the increase in dosage take to regulate his thyroid because his appetite is a little off and I wonder if it’s due to this. He also takes 1/8 mrtazapine every day but it doesn’t seem to help the appetite much. Thank you
Hi, My Silky, 13 years young, 10 lbs- during routine vet visit. vet says dental cleaning (he's had 2 or 3 times) takes a blood test. Blood work comes back thyroid hormone very low - vet said it was below .5 Tells me he needs to take meds I rush there next get throxine... .02 - 1 time a day. 2 weeks later dog is panting even at rest - sometimes looks like labored breathing - while sleeping! Very lethargic. I started to give him only 1/2 of the pill. I think he was misdiagnosed - how can i know?
Hello, My cat was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism this week. They also removed 300ml of fluid from around her lungs and let me know that her heart was enlarged. They gave me Furoside and want to prescribe hyperthyroid medication next. A friend recommend that I try Thyroid Support Gold. It seems like more of an herbal medication, but I was wondering if you think that it will be enough for a cat with her severity of the condition and with the heart medication? Any advice/insight would help!
