Adaptil
Adaptil is used in shelter medicine as it’s super noisy, strange environment and calms the stress, however; while this alone works well on its on for minor things that may set your animal into panic or anxiety moments, with thunder storms and fireworks I combine it with a combination of Trazodone and gabapentin, when the two are combined it calms the panting and drooling, seperately it’s doesn’t work. If looking for a more natural to use with the adaptil is Valerian and it can be found at places like sprouts, before you give your dogs any of the medications above YOU MUST CONSULT YOUR VETERINARY professional!

Vet visit
My lil guy is typically okay as long as he’s being held. We has our annual shoots visit today and he was violently shaking so bad, it appeared he was having seizures. My vet is absolutely amazing, as they have a “fear free corner” in the waiting room with this spray and scarfs to use and reopen at the end of the visit. I sprayed this all over the bandana and I tied it around him. I held it up to his nose and he INSTANTLY stopped shaking and didn’t the whole time we were there. I was in awe so I hopped on here to order this today in hopes of this holding up for dental and nail care at home.

Didn’t work for my German shepherd, just waisted money. Plus the instructions are confusing, one part says use on dogs collar and other part says don’t use on dog, spray car or room etc

The directions on the Petco page for this product says to spray directly on the dog's back where they can't lick it. However, the instructions on the box says not to spray directly on the dog, but to spray on objects, then let it sit for some time? Huh?
- I don't spray it on my dog. I spray it on both his bed and his collar and let it dry. It smells too much like chemicals to spray it on the dog.

I have two dachshunds how do I use this as they lick each other. Both are afraid of thunder and fireworks.
- If they wear bandanas, you can spritz it on them before you put them on. Our dog hides under a blanket so we spritz her blanket. We've also spritzed the air around her favorite hiding place. The idea is to let them get a good whiff of it so that I triggers the calming reflex. Bandanas work great and doggos look cute too!

My dog has separation anxiety. He has been scratching at the door frame and has caused considerable damage. Would I spray this on the door frame?
- I used Bitter Apple natural spray because you spray directly the object being chewed. Mine also liked the door jam and leashes...plural lots of leashes Haha. I also put some on top of finger if it was something I couldn't spray..and touched her tongue with it. It does the trick and not harmful. Otherwise you can spray this calming spray on a bandana. Good Luck!
