The Threadfin Butterfly is a pretty addition for fish only aquariums. They are very hardy and adapt well to life in an aquarium, which makes them an ideal starter butterfly. These can be kept in groups of fish, including other butterflies. They won't do well with fish that are overly aggressive, but they will also nip and pick at fish that are very timid. Like most butterflies, we don't recommend placing the Threadfin in reef aquariums because they are very likely to consume a variety of coral polyps. This butterfly will grow to be about 8" in size and will need ample swimming space. The Threadfin's posterior is bright yellow and the rest of their body is white. The dorsal fin has a false eye by the caudal fin. There are thin black lines that do a cross pattern across their body and has a black band through the Threadfin' eye. The dorsal fins are jagged and can get caught in nets.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email. We ship for arrival to the customer Tuesday through Friday and Saturday for an extra charge where available.

I have bought 2 parrot cichlids about 20 days ago. One of the parrot fish is constantly hiding behind the filter. Eating well but when it comes out to swim the other parrot fish keeps pinching it and doesn't allow to it to move around in the tank. I don't understand the problem. Please suggest what to do. Also the color of the fish is bit dull as compared to other one.
