It is made of plastic and cats do not respond to it. Some years ago saw this on another site and reviews made it clear about the non cat friendly material. So when I saw this and from Refined Feline assumed it was a different better product. But no, same thing. A lot of hassle to get the base on then off, repackaged and returned.

I'm going to be returning this to the store. It is very nice and more than tall enough for cats to get a good stretch, but my cats wouldn't touch it. I even placed their paws on it and they just dropped back down. I'm sure some cats would use it but mine wouldn't. As to the grey color. It is actually a sort of dull putty grey. I have dove grey furniture and this was a very dull putty color. Almost like a "dirty" grey. For those that care about the color. I never did open the base and attach it so I can't speak to that.
