These are only guidelines-your individual dog's needs will vary with age, breed and activity level. We suggest dividing the amounts below into two servings and always providing clean water. To switch to Whole Food Clusters, add a little to your dog's current food each day over the course of 5-7 days while decreasing the amount of current food over time. If feeding with a topper or wet food, adjust accordingly to maintain a healthy weight. Dog weight ( lbs.) Due to the recent FDA research on grain free food I am looking into switching my Shih Tzu/Maltese mix from Whole Earth farms grain free to something different. What would you recommend is a good, healthy brand for a small breed dog who is 4 and does not have any health issues. Thank you
I am getting an 8 week Cocker Spaniel. I am not new to Cocker Spaniel, just puppy versions. I want to try a new food for her, and need suggestions. I did research & came across these dry foods: Merrick Grain Free Real Salmon+Sweet Potato, Merrick Limited Ingredient Grain Free Real Salmon+Sweet Potato, Taste of Wild Pacific Stream Grain Free Smoked Salmon, Taste of Wild Appalachian Valley Small Bree’s Grain after Roasted Venison. Are any of those good, if so which one? Want to stay chicken free.
Hi! I am considering changing Addy’s food over to Taste of the Wild High Prairee puppy food. It’s grain free and has lean proteins and a 28% protein content. Currently she is on Blue Buffalo large breed puppy food that has whole grains. She is experience soft stool in the evening. I believe this may be from her food? Blue Buffalo is chicken based, and she does drink lots of water. She just had a vet appt, no presence of parasites in her stool. Any recommendations?
What would be the best wet dog food for her weighing 3.3 lbs. 4 years and has Periodontal desease? And can I purchase at Petco or Petsmart? Thank you
I have decided to prepare Nala's food at home as opposed to store bought dog food. What would I need to add to a recipe containing following: Beef Liver 3lbs Lamb Hearts 2lbs Beef Tripe 1lb Ground Chicken 5 lbs Water - as need to incorporate beef stew bones 3lbs Brussel Sprouts .5 lb Butternut Squash 1lb Pink Himalayan Salt- 1 tbl I did cook all of this, although I know that raw is better, and then ground it all together.
I have a German Shepherd and she is one month old. I am really unsure what dry food to get her. What is better: Purina Pro focus, Blue Wilderness, American journey, or taste of the wild? Should I get grain-free and large breed? If any other ones are suggested let me know.

My dog has been on a grain free soy free and chicken free food for about 8 months, He is 3 and has been gaining weight. He eats about 1/2 can of food twice a day and maybe a handful of dry food in between. He is never been a very active dog. He is part beagle and part chihuahua. He does have mostly a beagle body Short legs and long body Other than weight, he is healthy. What type of dog food would he need to lose weight
I have a almost 6year old English bulldog and was looking into switching up his food because his stool looks a little harder. do you suggest grain free? He has been on lamb and rice his whole life.

This question is for david elezbeth: Is 30-50% carbs an appropriate amount in dog food? I just started my dog on honest kitchen dehydrated dog food and these are the typical range in carbs. Is this to much? Also some reviewers have posted that their dog had more voluminous stool and went more frequently with bits of food still present in the stool. Is this normal? Chloe seems to be doing fine but I am noticing the bits of food in her stool. Is this ok to continue with this food?
