Puppies begin to eat solid foods around 4-6 weeks. After weaning, use the feeding guidelines noted on the packaging as an initial recommendation and adjust food amount as needed to reach desired weight. Your puppy's needs may vary with age, size, breed and activity level. Always provide access to clean, fresh water. If transitioning from another food, add a little Clusters to your puppy's current food each day over the course of 5-7 days while decreasing the amount of current food. Active Puppies: Feed as much or as often as needed to maintain ideal body weight. Food may need to increase up to 1 1/2 times the amount listed above. Gestation/lactation: Feed enough to maintain ideal body weight, food may need to increase 2 to 4 times the amount listed.

Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My puppy loved this food! She is a smaller breed, so the smaller kibble size was great. She has been growing like a weed and this food has helped her keep a healthy weight through the process. She is going through a bit of a picky phase, so we are mixing some freeze dried treats into the food. Would definitely recommend this product, it is simply made with high quality and well sourced ingredients.

GREAT puppy food!

I love the fact it's human grade food. I use this for my 5year old dog as well in the adult mix. I have inadvertently eaten a piece and it's actually not bad. When I got Poppy she was on another food and I switched her to this, she loves it. When we get to feeding time, with two dogs, it's a breeze as they both love their Honest Kitchen kibble!

Puppy loves it!

The shelter we got our puppy from provided a feed grade food and I immediately switched to HK. We had used HK for our older dog and was happy with the quality. The transition was easy. This is the first time using the clusters and am a bit disappointed that there are a lot crumbs at the bottom of the bag. I have been using the bone broth to moisten and that works fine. Puppy does not mind the crumbs and gobbles it up.

It's actually hard to call this food kibble because it's so unlike other kibble. Very high quality and basset hound approved (:

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Switching new puppy from kibble that breeder used to Whole Grain Chicken Clusters for Puppies; my vet loved the ingredients and my puppy loves this food well over the food she had been on; she nows wants to eat!

I get the dehydrated food,

I get the dehydrated food, but I also by the clusters because they're a nice addition for a little extra food, and I actually use them as treats for training, or putting in a kong with nut butter or pumpkin. They are the perfect size for training treats.

Great food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great food that has already show improvements on our senior dogs weight and energy levels. The kibble does break up very easily, so towards the last quarter of the bag you get a lot of powder from crushed kibble.

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

how long can it sit out without causing problems

  1. I would feed this food and any other within the company’s freshness expiration date. NEVER feed old rancid food to any animal. As with humans, you can cause GI problems. With dogs and horses rancid food can be a contributor to bloat/colic.  If you don’t know the expiry date, pick up your phone and call the company with the lot number of the food.  If you suspect the food is bad, use common sense and throw it out just like you would for yourself.

How many cups come in 20 lb bag?

  1. Hello! Thanks for reaching out. There are about 84 cups in each 20-pound bag of clusters. I hope this helps!
