My cat maintains her weight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat maintains her weight using the honest kitchen. I love the dehydrated mix as it’s less waste and doesn’t smell. I use a paste consistency. Took my cat a while to get use to it, but now she loves it and manages her weight much better on it. I premix 2 to 3 days ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator. I will warm it up for her in microwave for 10 seconds. :)

Cat seems to be liking this Chicken flavor (but hated the Chicken and Fish version)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] She seems to like the straight Chicken flavor, but the Chicken and Fish she literally ran away from. I have to admit that flavor smelled more like cod-liver oil that real fish.

I used to buy this food for my elderly cats, they loved it! When they passed I had some leftover, so I passed it on to a local cat rescue. Their elderly hospice cats do great and their tiniest kittens thrive! I’m so glad I am able to provide such a fabulous food for them.

Is this fed as a replacement got dry kibble or for canned wet food?

  1. I would replace this for kibble, which doesn't have the water content cats need if that's all they are eating. Best thing to feed is all canned, but I feed mainly canned with a small amount of kibble in the am/pm as a treat or feed an entire commercially prepared raw diet with no kibble. I feed Honest Kitchen dehydrated to my dogs but my cats didn't care for this or else I would have switched them to it. Cats are picky, try different things to see what works. In the wild, their prey is basically 80% water ( blood and fluids) with bone, muscle, organs skin making up the rest so keep that in mind. They need a higher content of moisture and all meat or as little grain in the food as possible. They are strictly meat eaters:)
