Great Enhancement for my 2 dogs gut health

Kathryn H.

My 2 dogs love this addition to their dry food, and I'm so happy to be able to use it to supplement their gut health. I mixed it in a shaker type container and keep it in the fridge, then pour it over their dry kibble in the morning.

Questions

Can my day old puppy drink this

Can the powder goats milk be sprinkled on the dry dog food?

    1. Hi there, That's an excellent question! Unfortunately, since the goat's milk is a dehydrated product, it must be rehydrated before giving it to your pup. We do have customers that rehydrate the goat's milk and use that to top their dogs' meals as well. I hope this helps! Best,

Does the powder need to be refrigerated after being opened?

    1. Hello! That's a great question. Once the goat's milk has been rehydrated, it can be refrigerated for two to three days. The dehydrated goat's milk is shelf stable before rehydration though. So as long as you close the lid and store it in a cool, dry place, it will stay fresh until the date printed on the packaging. I hope this clears things up a bit! Thanks.

    Is there lactose when rehydrated?

    1. Hi there, Thanks for your question! Although there may be some naturally occurring lactose in goat's milk, the lactase content makes it so it's still very digestible for dogs and cats alike. Lactase is the enzyme responsible for breaking down lactose. Lactase is not present in the digestive system of most adult cats and dogs, and that's why they have a hard time digesting dairy products. Since the lactase content in our Instant Goat's Milk is sufficient enough to break down any lactose that's present, it will still be gentle on the digestive system. The addition of probiotics makes it even more beneficial for the gut and immune system as well! I hope this helps! Thanks

I have heard that goat's milk helps alleviate rear end itch for breeds like Blue Tick Hound. To your knowledge, does goat's milk help this problem?

    1. Hi there! It may be the case that because our goat's milk helps to provide overall immune support, a dog's itchy skin may subside. Just like with humans, probiotics do much more for the body than just regulating digestion. These live cultures may help sometimes in reducing inflammation, which can help to reduce itching. I hope this clears things up a bit!

Can it be made and stored?

    1. Hello! Yes, you can refrigerate the goat's milk for up to 3 days after adding water. You can also freeze it and store it for up to 2 months! I hope this clears things up!
