Weak pump

Sarah93

I bought this at the beginning of spring, and immediately had problems with it. Out of the box it would not work when plugged in. I had to call customer service and was told to remove the impeller and then place it back in the pump to get things started. This worked but was not in the manual. The output is very weak, barely an inch or two over the fountain head. My pond is under 100 gallons and the pump is at around 15 inches deep, so it should be working better than that. It is easy to clean but I've had to clean it minimum once a week as it gets quickly clogged by any algae. It's lasted the whole summer but I am disappointed with the product, will have to replace it next year.

Zero problems with the 75-250 gallon unit (325 gph pump). My pond is 120 gallons, I'm running the fountain feature and waterfall. 1. Make sure you adjust the flow valve for the fountain. I see a alot of people commenting there is no flow. If the valve is screwed all the way in, it won't flow. 2. I'm buying a larger pump ONLY because I made my waterfall a bog filter and ran my feed feed like through the bottom with PVC and a backflow valve. It takes a bit of pressure to push the valve open. It's a slow flow which is good for it being a bog filter, but to maintain minimal flow, the fountain is adjusted very low. 3. This plastic box filter will float or move around. I put bioballs in one of the center chambers and active charcola in the other center chamber and pea gravel in all the remaining chambers to not only weigh it down, but create surface area to catch debris and let beneficial bacteria grow. Don't put anything in the chamber where the outlet is as either pea gravel will enter the pump or you'll block flow. *I didn't run this system with out the backflow valve, I would assume I'd have more flow if I ran the feed with out one or to the top of the water fall box. I think the pump for this system could be bigger considering this is for a pond up to 250 gal and mine is only 120 gal. Other than that, no issues.

I just got this in the mail to day after waiting a bit to get and I know it is set up correctly. I've plugged it in to multiple outlets and it just doesn't work.

Love it! Does my deck pond perfectly.

Love it! Does my deck pond perfectly. If you're doing something and keeping it simple Tetra has a great option here! No ala cart-ing this pump with that prefilter and these heads, it's all there ready to rock in about 10 minutes. One minor critique, make the hose longer / more flexible. Tip, you will need to weigh it down, I started with a rock on top but then realized some rocks inside would stay in AND serve as bio surface.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works perfect right out of the box. I did change the filer out with a finer one to allow for better filtration. I am running a weir with a waterfall on a 800 GPH pump which keeps the top of the water clear of floating debris but i was missing the “complete” water filtration. Has been a great addition to my pond and after 1 day have seen improved water clarity. Cleaned the filter today and cant wait to see what the water looks like after a week. Didnt know if i would be a fan of the fountain application but i use the bubbler attachment and run it about 3 inches high and it looks great and really helps with gas exchange. VERY HAPPY with the product.

We are sorry to hear this Ricardo F. Wilson! Check the diverter as when the item is shipped, the diverter is set so that half the water goes to the fountain and half will go out the side port. Make sure you have it open fully. Also, it should not be deeper than 12-15" if using the fountain. We will reach out directly to you via email to make sure you have it installed correctly.

A surprise!

The pump works great, does just the job needed. I was a little surprised at the size of the filter, considered maybe not using it. However, I decided to give it a try. My finding, it does the best job of any filter I have ever used - I will continue using it. I needed to add some rocks to it as it would not sink. Two missing needs: 1) Need to purchase thin wall plastic tubing which can be used with this arrangement; 2) a quick disconnect for removing the filter to clean (or perhaps I have not found the right way to go about cleaning it).

Yes, I recommend this product.
