I purchased a whisper 26 months ago and gradually just stop pumping. I thought it was the air stone bought a new air stone and still same problem.

as an air pump user for over half a century, continue to watch the quality plummet. My first air pump, in the 1950's, worked perfectly for over 20 yrs. These modern ones, unless you know how to modify them, barely make it to ONE year. The changes are made, in my opinion, to maximize C level income by cheapening the product, at the expense of the customer. Luckily, the the changes I made, in less than 5 minutes, will make the air pump function for at least a decade, IF I can find replacement diaphragms every 2 or 3 yrs, as I did with my FIRST air pump, from the 50's, that lasted DECADES

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. We are disappointed to hear your air pumps are not lasting as long as the average life span of 5+ years. We do want to make you aware that any alteration of the air pump voids the two-year warranty on it. So that we can help you, please email petsupport@spectrumbrands.com.<!--[if ReviewResponse]><![endif]-->

A good flowing pump with two output ports

I bought this model for my 40 gallon breeder aquarium because it has two output ports and was plenty large enough to provide good aeration action. I am pleased with it so far. It is far from silent, but is not very loud at all. Just a low volume buzz to it which we are fine with.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Plenty of power but the pump has pretty loud. I have 2 cannister filters and the air pump is what you hear. Other than that, it has dual airline outlets and powerful.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Powerful air pump, always trust this brand and have used there smaller sizes for many years. I have multiple sizes ranging from single output to dual output. No issues, low vibration is a plus, and also low maintenance.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Should this be able to make ample bubbles with 2x 18” air stones in a 75 gallon tank?

 1. Yes, great pump, use coupons, price match online. Also I prefer large sponge because there filters too. When my fish breed I turn off the HOB and just let the bubbles and sponges do the work. GL

What’s the psi on this pump

 1. Probably below 2-3psi. They are not high pressure pumps since they are blowing air through a stone. Mine is running one "Bubble-Bubba" by Bubblemac Industries. It works fine on it but I think running two would be a bit much.

I'm wanting to put this in a 75gal with two 12inch air stone strips. Will this have enough airflow to power both?

 1. Yes it will have sufficient air flow. The only issue is these pump only last about 6 months in a larger tank. For the price point it is worth it to me. I have had almost every brand and this one lasts the longest, unless you spend $250-300 on a reef type from a supplier.

Does this come with tubing? Also if put a 75gallon sponge filter at the end Of each tubing, will this be too much or will it work just as fine ?

 1. Does not come with tubing i ran a fishroom off about a dozen of these for awhile and I ran 2 75s each with 2 large sponge filters and 2 airstones on one pump i wouldnt recommend that many but should be way more than enough for just one 75.

Does this come with tubing? Also if put a 55g sponge filter at the end will this work just as fine but I’ll just run thru sponged faster?

 1. Does not come with tubing. I suggestion buying some and more than you need in case you need more. This model should not matter in the sponge filter question. But you want to make sure you clean the filter regularly as a clogged sponge (or air stone) will slow the air flow.

I have only had the pump for about 3 or 4 weeks. At first it worked great but now it puts out very little air and has a “hot” smell coming from it.

 1. Most likely there is a lot of back pressure due to whatever air stone is attached to it being too small or possibly clogged. Email our team at petsupport@spectrumbrands.com.

My tank is a125 gallon could this work on my tank

 1. Yes, this will work. The only issue is they pumps only last about 6 months.

How many watts is the 100 gallon air pump?

 1. It is 4.8 watts.

Comparing 60 gallon to 100 gallon model. How much greater air flow does the 100 have? Is the 100 about 2 x stronger than the 60 model? If the 60 is able to blow 2 sponge filters in 55 gallon, how many additional sponge filters can the 100 blow?

 1. This sounds like a math word problem, lol! The 60 moves 2.6 liters of air per minute while the 100 moves 3.3 liters of air per minute. These numbers are based on the ports being teed together and the depth of the tank being 2 feet. As to how many sponge filters either of them can operate, that depends on the size of the sponge filters as well as how well maintained they are, and the size of the tank.
