Tetra Whisper Air Pumps for aquariums provide powerful, dependable airflow. Tetra Whisper 10 Air Pump (non-UL) can be used in tanks up to 10 gallons. Questions
I need it to make my sponge filter work. What else do i need?
- We would recommend approximately 6 feet of airline tubing and a check valve to prevent water from backing into the air pump if it is sitting below the tank.

- Yes, that would be fine but we recommend having a flow valve in place in case it is too powerful.

Just to be clear, this is one of those products that makes bubbles in the water right? Just want to make sure I’m not buying something completely different. I just want a nice bubbler that will entertain my fish!
- Yes, this is an air pump which will create bubbles when connected to an air stone or air ornament. You will need about 6 feet of tubing, depending on where you plan to sit it, a check valve, and an air stone.

Can I use this pump on a tank smaller than a 10-gallon?
- That depends on the size tank you own. You can use a flow valve to restrict the air flow if necessary, but too much restriction creates noise and too much wear and tear on the diaphragms. We would not recommend a tank any smaller than a 5 gallon one.

What is the PSI strength/rating of this pump?
- I no longer have the box, but would think if that info were available, it would be on the box. I have a 10 gallon tank and have used this filter for over 5 years and have never had any problem with it, it works great; puts out a lot of air. Just make sure that the sides don't touch anything around it, as it will then vibrate against it and make noise.

- No, it is not waterproof and not recommended for anything other than indoor aquarium use.

Is this air pump strong enough to work with a check valve? The one I bought doesnt push air through my check valve in either direction.
- You might have a faulty check valve as any air pump should push air through one without an issue. The check valve does go in one direction only. The other possibility could be the pump is too small for the air stone or bubble wand that you are using.
