Easy balance plus weekly

Ddgame

Easy balance plus weekly has been a wonderful product for me. I’m looking to get more but the principal ingredients have changed in the product listed, so I am hesitant to purchase it. With my product organic mineral salts, suspended biodegradable polymers are the listed ingredients. With this product the first ingredient is water…. water …really? I called and spoke with one of your agents they are seeing a different list of ingredients than what you were showing online for this product, (he saw the same as what my bottle shows) leaving me with bewildered on what to do. I am hoping to find the easy balance plus weekly maintenance 16 ounce product again because it does work fabulous.

Worst product

I had an established 10 gallon freshwater aquarium. The only fluctuations I had were in nitrites/nitrates and those were rare. I added this to my tank with the last water change and have lost 5 fish so far and cannot stabilize my pH at all. I'm about ready to drain the tank and start over though I hate to lose the few fish and inverts I have left. I'll never use this junk again!

Worked really well, got levels back to normal, however i got really sick after putting the chemical into my tank. I started sneezing uncontrollably and my eyes were watering and the back of my throat felt funny, I was absolutely fine after being out the house for a couple hours only for it to start up again just moments after stepping into my room where the tank is. Sounds really silly i didn’t think it was the chemical at first either until i cleaned the tank and it stopped happening.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The main ingredient is inorganic mineral salts. We would recommend asking your doctor if it is possible to be allergic to mineral salts. So that we can help you, please email our team at petsupport@spectrumbrands.com.

Worked as I hoped it would.

Have been struggling since adding some fish. Nitrate levels a touch high and a bit of a bacteria bloom in the water column. Did a ~33% water change, added tetra Aquasafe plus to the new water, added it to the tank and then dosed the tank with Easybalance Plus. This morning I can see the tank is to clearing up and my nitrate is now around between 0 and 20ppm.

Great for reducing high nitrate levels. Could not find this particular one for awhile…glad it was back in stock. My fish tend to eat it when added to water.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fish killer!

FishLover63

My first experience I chalked the kill up to user error. I had just moved into my new home and set up new aquarium. I have 30 gallon tank and therefore should add 3 capfuls. I waited over 8 hours before adding my fish (some over 4 yrs old), approximately 20 fishes of varying sizes. The next morning ALL were dead! Empty tank and reestablished using half the dosage. I am now 6 months in new home and my tank was doing fine, with another 20 or so fish and one snail who was growing great. Decided to do a partial water change and added only half the recommended dosage again. This morning find 10 fish and the snail dead. I threw the bottle out and will never use tetra for my tank again.

Turned a clear tank cloudy!

Poppy Dukes

Used this product in 2 tanks & the water became cloudy almost instantly. Don't know if it was good for the fish or not. Had to partially change the water in 1 tank multable times to clear it up. Gonna wait before trying to clear up 2nd tank. Will not be using this product anymore.

Questions

do i take the fish out of the tank before using this?

  1. No, not at all. The fish stay in the tank while you dose it, just don't pour it on top of them.

How long should I wait to put the fish back in the aquarium after putting the easy balance in the water?

  1. I never took my fish out. I would use a 5 gallon bucket then add the proper amount of conditioner. I think it is better for the fish to stay in the tank while you clean it. I had a cyphon that I got from the pet store. Depending on how often you are doing a water change depends on what percentage of water you take out. If you are doing it once a week it’s only 10 % so once I put the conditioner in the water in the bucket I only wait 10 minutes before I pour in tank. Water should be a similar temp to tank water. I’m not sure. why  you are taking fish Out of tank. You should never do a full tank change.

Why is this not available in Eau Claire?

Can I use this in a brackish tank with Green Spotted Puffers?

    1. I swear by this product but I have freshwater....try contacting the company....there is probably a “help line” number on the product

Can I add the Tetra Easy Balance Plus while my 29 gallon tank is still in the middle of cycling. I did a water test and everything looks ok. PH - 7.6 / High PH - 8.0 / Ammonia 0.25 ppm / Nitrite 0 / Nitrate 0 / Temp - 78F. Water is cloudy. Will this help?

    1. EB is more for adjusting established tanks, removing accumulated minerals and acids, I swear by this product. Tanks usually get cloudy during cycling I would increase bubbles and put a little food into the water to give the bacteria something to eat.....good luck I’ve had fish for 60 years and always enjoyed them

    Does this lower ph?

    1. No, it actually prevents the lowering of pH from dissolved organic matter.

Do you need to remove your activated carbon while using this product?

    1. No, and this product works great!

I bought the tetra EasyBalance plus and used it all, then I got the regular tetra EasyBalance without the plus, can I still use it?

    1. Yes

every time i pour it, some of my fish start eating it...is that safe for them to eat?

    1. Thanks for asking! This product is safe for fish. You can remove a cup of tank water, mix in the easy balance, then pour the diluted mixture in the tank if you prefer. For more help contact Tetra at PHGreviews@spectrumbrands.com or call 1-800-526-0650.

Can this replace a water conditioner?

    1. This is a water conditioner, but no, it will not take out chlorine, chloramines or heavy metals.
