To quote my cat Tillie "Taste of the wild is the cats meow!" Tillie is very retro.

All 7 of our cats love this food. They get excited when the Chewy box gets here. I have to put the food in the big container right away or they rip into the bags.

Changed the formula, why?

TomC

My highly finicky elderly cat was really liking Rocky Mountain canned cat food. I had found a cat food he was willing to eat. For whatever reason, you changed the formula. It used to be chunky, which he liked, to now a mushy pate', which he doesn't. Also, it now has a strong smell to it which it didn't before. I now have a starving cat who refuses to eat. Will the formula be changed back to what it was before?

Taste of the Wild
Hello, and thank you for reaching out about what you noticed. We want to assure you that this food is safe to feed. While there have been no recent changes to this recipe, we are aware of a change in the texture and consistency of some of our canned cat recipes. We have identified the cans that were affected, and have discontinued distributing them to retailers. We are working with our canned recipe vendor to ensure our food has the consistent texture that your cat loves. Additionally, decreased appetite can be a sign of underlying illness. We recommend working with your veterinarian to choose a diet that best meets your cat’s needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been buying the taste of the wild salmon and venison dry food for a while when I noticed my local country max started carrying the canned food version. My Ripley goes completely nuts for it. It's quite honestly the only canned food and dry food he gets excited about. I recommend it to everyone I know that has a cat(s).
