This is the only food I have purchased for my dog in the last 6 years. She has such a sensitive tummy and this has brought us the most success in her health journey! We are loyal to this brand because it keeps my girl going and happy while we are at it. The reliable and consistent formula is the only one we trust.

After endless research on brands, this was my choice for transitioning my new lab pup upon bringing her home. She’s been on it, happily eating, growing and thriving ever since-now 11 months old. I feel confident in my decision for comprehensive, wholesome nutrition, balance and quality.

Does this food have chicken fat in it?

  1. Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Yes, our High Prairie Puppy Recipe contains chicken fat, as it is a good source of Omega-6 fatty acids, which help support healthy skin and a shiny coat. If you have any additional questions about our recipes, please contact us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/.

Would TOTW High Pairie be a good kibble option for a yorkie? My puppy has been having very soft stools with Blue Buffalo and I want to give this a try.

  1. Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Our High Prairie Puppy Recipe may be a good choice for a Yorkie puppy, as it includes specific nutrients, like added DHA that aids in brain and eye development, to help your puppy grow to their full potential. Please know, to avoid digestive upset we recommend a gradual transition over a period of 7-10 days. With any diet change, we recommend consulting with your dog’s veterinarian. In addition, we are happy to answer any additional questions, as well as provide a personalized recipe recommendation. If interested, please contact us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/.

I recently changed my yorkie’s food to Blue Buffalo as his prior food Authority he never finished a powl he harly age at it, so I decided to try BB and now he has been having soft stools every day, would TOTW be recomended for a yorkie?

I have an 8 month old Maltese with tear stain problems will this food help clear that up or should I be looking at the grain free salmon?

    1. I have mine on grain free salmon and they are doing very well.

I have a 12 week old picky eater GS, she has some dandruff and scratches more now that i had her on purina pro plan chicken and rice. I want to try this brand but not sure which one to get. Plz help i got her purina sensitive salmon and she wont eat it

    1. Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Our High Prairie Puppy formula may be a great option for your picky eater. You might also consider our other puppy formula, Pacific Stream Salmon Puppy or any of our all life stages recipes for additional unique flavors. All of our recipes include omega fatty acids to help keep skin healthy and fur smooth and shiny. There are numerous causes for skin issues in puppies, so we recommend consulting your veterinarian for further recommendations. In addition, we are always happy to answer any additional questions, as well as provide a personalized recipe recommendation. If interested, please contact us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/.

My now 15 mo. Sheppard has been eating TOTW puppy since I brought him home. I love the fact that TOTW has a variety. Can I feed him any of the flavors without transitioning him ?

    1. Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Our recipes are complete and balanced and can be fed in rotation or in combination. Some dogs are more sensitive than others, so we always recommend a gradual transition between recipes to avoid digestive upset. Although uncommon, if a dog develops a dietary intolerance when multiple recipes are being used, it is more difficult to isolate the culprit than if they are being fed a single recipe. However, as long as the diet is not abruptly changed, most dogs will do fine with either feeding method. If you have any additional questions, we encourage you to contact us or speak with your veterinarian. We can be reached by visiting https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/.

Can I feed my 9-10 year old golden retriever & lab mix this ?

    1. Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Our High Prairie Puppy Recipe is an All Life Stages Recipe, which means it was developed to meet the nutritional needs of dogs at all ages, from puppy to senior. This recipe uses a mixture of buffalo, lamb, egg, beef, and venison to create a rich, meaty flavor dogs enjoy. With any diet change, we recommend consulting with your dog’s veterinarian. In addition, we are always happy to answer any additional questions, as well as provide a personalized recipe recommendation. If interested, please contact us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/.

At what age should I stop feeding my dog puppy food and switch to adult food?

    1. Hello, thanks for reaching out! As a general guide, we recommend transitioning puppies to adult food at about 10–12 months of age. For large or giant breeds, between 12–18 months of age is a good time to make the transition to adult food. However, if you’re feeding an All Life Stages recipe, your dog can continue on the recipe indefinitely. Our All Life Stages recipes are developed to meet the nutritional needs of dogs at all ages, from puppy to senior. Our puppy-specific recipes fall under the All Life Stages category, but have smaller kibbles. Both our puppy and All Life Stages recipes include specific nutrients, like added DHA that aids in brain and eye development, to help your puppy grow to their full potential. If you have any questions, please contact us by visiting our website https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us.

I have a 4 month old beagle and I am trying to find a food that won’t give her diarrhea. I tried 2 types already and I’m starting to wonder if she might have a gluten allergy or another food intolerance. Would anyone recommend this for a sensitive stomach

    1. You may want to ask your vet. I used it for my dog when she was a puppy but she doesn't have a sensetive stomach. I know from the other pup ( with a sensitive stomach ) it could be multiple reason why your puppy is having issues .

I have a 8 wk old shih Tzu puppy, can I feed this to him. I have been doing a lot of research and have read that shih Tzu tend to have a lot of digestive issue. Im considering feeding him this, would you recommend this brand for his sensitive tummy.

    1. I’ve had a Shih Tzu. Digestive issues is not a common prob for the breed. Diff vets have diff opinions about food. I’ve fed Blue wilderness to all my dogs over the years incl Shih Tzu, Bichon Frises, and Yorkies. All did very well on Blue Wilderness.
