Place at least three inches of litter in a clean litter box. Scoop clumps and waste daily, refilling the litter to the minimum height. Dispose of waste in household trash.

Sustainably Yours is the best litter ever. My three year old Tonkinese has been an asthmatic since 5 months of age. I’ve tried every litter known to man in an effort to find a dust free litter that also controls odor etc. Sustainability Yours fits the bill.

I tried both the small grain and large grain versions of this. Both clump really well. They don't really trap odors, but I use a litter robot, which helps since poops are trapped in a separate container. But I really like this litter because it's not dusty. This litter does track, but no more than other litter brands/types I've used. I prefer the large grain version because it tracks less than the small grain version. The small grain version has a sand-like texture, so it tracks and sticks everywhere (like sand). This litter really sticks to the rubber liner of my litter robot, but it helps to spray the liner with food grade silicone. Clumps separates easier when the globe cycles and the liner drops down.

Unbelievably clumping, odor free, and no dust

This litter is truly unbelievable and I have tried 3 other highly rated litters that state they are natural. There's a reason this litter is endorsed by that cat guy, Jackson Galaxy. It clumps like cement! I'm not joking. I dare you to try to break up the clumps! And it is truly odor-free. Once the "stuff" is covered up, there is no odor. And, they don't use deodorizers. There is simply no scent. There is no dust too. While it is more expensive, it also lasts a long time. I don't have to throw away the litter that is not used/clumped, I just add to it. I did this for a whole month, when I finally ran out and decided to throw out the remains and start new. Where other cat litters, I have to throw away weekly or bi-weekly. After trying several supposed natural cat-litters, we are sticking with this one. There's truly nothing better that I have found, not even close! Pros: -True cement-like clumping -No odor -No deodorizers or perfumes -No dust Cons: -Pricey

Tracks less but clings to smells, cements to box

We'd been using the Sustainably Yours small-grain formula which is very fine, like sand. It clumps well and doesn't harbor smells, but it tracks a lot of sand all over the place - so I figured we'd switch to the large grain to see if it would track less. I figured the larger the grain, the less it would stick in our cat's paws. I would say the larger grains do track a little bit less. But that's where the pros stop. Because the grains are larger, urine flows right through to the bottom of the litter box, leaving large flat pancake clumps that get completely cemented onto the box - we had to use a metal scooper with a sharp corner to pry and chisel them off. Besides that, this litter clung onto smells and absolutely reeked a mere few days in, even though we only have one cat and scoop multiple times per day. This was never a problem with the small grain formula. It smelled so badly we made a special trip to the store just to buy the small grain, and dumped this one out to replace it. It was worth a shot, but the performance is nowhere near that of the small grain. Guess we have to deal with the tracking sand of the small grain for now!

Not happy with product. I had to get a hammer to break up the clumps that stuck to the bottom of the box. This was an expensive litter, and I will not use it again

No Dust!!!!! I don't breathe it when I scoop, which I love! Every other litter out there that promises no dust cannot compare to Sustainably Yours, so much so that I had to write about it. What litter doesn't track? They have spaces in their toe beans for everything so why wouldn't litter get stuck too? I don't mind finding the tiny balls and picking them up as much as I mind the DUST!!!! And as for clumping, I think you could build a small hut with how strong this is!!!! No more sifting for a million pieces of broken up clumps! It clumps almost immediately. The only way to hide poop smell is to feed our furbabies good food :)

ive been using this litter for the past 3 years and will never go back to using any other kind. it does track a bit but i vacuum/sweep every day anyway so it doesnt matter. no smell, super easy to scoop and my cat loves it.

In volume how many pounds of this litter is compared to clay? I buy two 25 lb boxes of clay litter a month, so how many of these would I need?

    I would say the volume is going to be roughly the same, but this definitely lasts longer and doesn't require replacing as often! Literally zero dust and I've never had mine stick to the box the way clay does.

    What's the best scoop for the large grain? I need one that's big and strong enough to get the large clumps, but also has the right size openings to catch the little bits that are often left over.

        Only the manufacturer can say for sure, but from my research it would be dried in an oven as part of its processing which would remove most of the cyanide.  I can tell you that my dog has eaten some and suffered no I’ll effects.

      Cassava, yucca plant, is poisonous to ingest if not cooked. My research on the internet says that small amounts of cyanide is safe for cats, though I disagree. Is there trace amounts of cyanide in this litter?

        I contacted the company with similar concerns a month ago and received a disappointing reply (below). That said, after trying 4 other litters in this timeframe, I have switched back to sustainably yours. There's nothing as good on the market. Response from company: Thank you for your interest in Sustainably Yours! We cannot disclose the exact information you are seeking since it is related to our proprietary formula; however, rest assured that we use entirely dehydrated food-grade cassava starch (tapioca), making our natural cat litter 100% safe for cats and humans. Hopefully, this helps, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
