is it possible for microchips in cats to be dislodged a little? we're having issues with one of the cats and the cat flap which operates on microchip recognitions - its programing ok and working when we put his head right up to it but when he tries its not working so just wondering if at all the microchip could be just slightly out of place, our other cat has no issues and gets in no worries - if it is the microchip, is it possible to re-position or install another new one?
How do I check for a microchip at home
We've had a cat flap for a while but the cats will only use it when the flap is tied open. We really want to encourage use as it's synced to chips not allowing in other animals. How can we get them to use this themselves? We have tried treats, shutting them out etc.
Can a tracker or micro-chip be reused (from one animal into another animal).
My cat has a weird thing on her back. I'm pretty sure it's her microchip, but her brother's is much higher, in his shoulder. Is there a place I can go to scan it to make sure?
Hi I recently went to petco to get my dogs vaccines. The vet there highly recommended the 24 petwatch microchip. Normally I would do research but I trusted her. I did some research and they are terrible. I Was just curious can you remove or deactivate a microchip?
I had my dog microchipped in 2010 how can I update his info
Hi, I have a diabetic cat who is on a specialized diet and gets insulin twice a day. I’m worried I won’t be around to feed him and give him his next shot (bc nye) and want to use an auto feeder for this one specific occurrence. I’m worried about him getting high blood sugar (we have three cats so I’m programming the feeder to dispense enough food for all three). Basically can he die if he gorges himself on the food via high blood sugar? Please put my mind at ease.
We recently got an electronic doggie door. While we are training them we have it set to unlocked. Our 50-pound lab mix has pretty much figured it out. However we also have midna the Chiweenie she is scared of the door I think so because we had to buy it says for the bigger dog and every time she considers going through right after Sarah it smacks her in the face. It is light enough for her to push it open if she decides to they both had the same training when we first got it but she refuses
I need to get a blood glucose reader for my cat. Do I have to get one specifically for pets or will a human one work?
My cat is an indoor cat but is very curious of whats beyond rhe front door. I'm getting her spaid regardless of if she's an indoor cat or not, but I was wondering can you microchip a cat like they do dogs? I don't want to chance her getting out maybe oneday getting pregnant or lost forever if she gets out. When we go to get both spaid I would like both to be microchipped just to ease my worries.
Are there any risks to microchipping cats? Should I wait to microchip my oldest cat - he just (recently) started medicine for arthritis so his body is already all sore and painful? Can microchips be inserted wrong? What happens if they do get inserted wrong or move inside the body after insertion?
