The Super Red Bushy Nose Pleco is a beautiful pleco that can be seen stuck against the glass all day cleaning off the algae. They are a very efficient algae eater and will actively clean the glass, which means less cleaning for you. They have short whisker-like appendages on their nose, which helps them detect food and is how they got the common name "Bushy Nose". Like most plecos, the Super Red has a long-life span and can grow to be quite large so be sure they have enough space. Provide lots of hiding spaces to help reduce their stress especially while they are acclimating to their new environment. They prefer a planted aquarium with plenty of water movement and aeration. Even though they love eating algae that cannot be their only food source, so provide a varied diet of algae wafers and meaty, sinking pellets.

ACCLIMATION: Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. For new aquariums, adding new fish slowly helps to properly develop the nitrogen cycle, which creates a safe environment for your aquatic pets. A bacteria booster may also help develop a new aquarium for your new fish. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried, and frozen food, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller, unfiltered aquariums.

Hi there, I'm not sure if this website applies to fish, but I don't have anyone in my area that can help. I have a gold nugget pleco and he eats veggies and driftwood all the time, has a large 55 gallon tank to himself and he has normal catfish habits-sleep during day, up at night. Anyways he was a beautiful black and gold but now his colour is fading... I looked it up and it means death (but he's eating and still very alive...). Is there anything you know about why else the colour could go?
Hello, I have 2 goldfish who recently had a pleco added to their tank. A week after one of the goldfish had red spots all over. Being concerned we removed the pleco but the goldfish is still showing symptoms. I did a complete water change adding antibotics. The goldfish is staying at the bottom of the tank and seems very lethargic. What should we do
Best foods for 29gallon tank with 4Rosaline Sharks, 4Congo Tetras, 1large bushy nosed plecostamus. Vitamins?
My pleco fish is bullying my fancy goldfish that are in the same tank. What should i do?
Hello, We have a bristlenose pleco that we bought about two weeks ago and for the last 3 days he has been on top of the tank all day. he moves a little but spends most of the time on top by the water heater. he also hasnt eaten in the last 3 days... any idea why?
My betta has red tips on his tail and my cat fish Cory has red spots as well
I just received Spooky in place of a different algae eater that I had. Spooky is a baby. And is a bristle nose algae eater. And I'm not very sure on the way on how to care for this fella very well yet. I am talking to a breeder about the little one. And it's to young to know gender too. Please help me learn what it needs.
Hi here, I’m really worried about my fish. He has this red spot and I don’t know if it’s something to be concerned about
Hi, I bought 6 platy fish and a black corydora catfish about 2 weeks ago, all seem in good health bright colours and swimming round as normal they are in a 48l tank which the pet store said was a big enough tank for them all, but one of them seems to be loosing his scales or I’m afraid he may have itch but it dosent look like it I hope you can help, thanks.
Hello, good afternoon! I was curious as to how to keep a healthy, happy pleco? I just received a baby albino pleco, we got algae wafers, as well as the other algae that grows in the tank, I have a couple questions, how do I tell I’m feeding him enough, how can I let him stay happy and healthy, how do I give him a great, long life, how do I tell when he is sleeping, and how ca I tell when he is sick, I’m not to familiar with pleco sicknesses and diseases. Thank you so much, I appreciate you!
Hi, I had a bettas fish and a clown pleco. A day after doing a complete cleaning of the tank, my better fish died and my pleco started acting weird. I tested the water. Ph 7, ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 0. He is not eating, his skin started to look like white, like shedding? And now is like coming off. Also, his belly is bloated. I attached pictures.
Hello, good afternoon! I was curious on how to know when a pleco is asleep? I have a baby albino pleco, and he has been in the same spot about all day. I believe he is okay, he is not laying on the bottom, his mouth is stuck to the bottom of a decoration. I just thought I would ask to make sure he is alright! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
