The Derasa Clam, identifiable by having six to seven vertical folds on each side of its shell, exhibits exquisite, unique patterns, such no two look the same. They are the hardiest clam of the Tridacna genus and the second largest. They are filter feeders, meaning they filter the water for particulate food, but the hobbyist must supplement their diet with planktonic foods. All clams need a lot of calcium and alkalinity for their shell growth, so monitoring these levels is just as important as their diet. They can actually deplete the water of calcium much faster than stony corals. Like all clams, the Derasa has byssal threads that they use to attach themselves to the substrate. You should never forcibly remove an attached clam, because they may be badly damaged. As they grow, they will lose their byssal glad and depend on their weight to hold them in place. This clam does best under moderate light, in clean water, and at least a moderate flow of water.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.

My razorback musk turtle, got it for one and a half weeks or so, still small, has a yellowish white lump on its front leg. Like acne. What is this? Should I be worried? Thanks for your help!
My last has some light blue spots in outer part of ears
I have a baby red eared slider a friend bought from Chinatown then couldn’t keep. I believe it’s about 1-2 months old as it wasn’t even old enough to eat when I recieved it. I have him set up in a filtered tank with a dry rock area and some caves in the water that he likes to sit on. He’s developed a couple small white spots on his shell and I’m worried that it’s some kind of infection but I also don’t know if he’s maybe starting to shed his shell.
I have just brought a new rapheal spooted catfish what care should I take as it is with discuss arrowana and blue angel pls will u share me the link how to hold it
Hi my mississippi map turtle has a cist like lump just by his left nosstle, it's all puss but not leaky pussy, it's like soft cheese. It started off as a little white dot, have u any ideas, bits keep falling off the lump too. Leaving open wounds. Stewart.
Hi. This is my first time having a pet turtle. I had it for a year. Do you know what may be causes his shell to look like this?
I have a red ear slider baby turtle and a light patch is on his foot is he ok
My tortoise has what appears to be fluids (red so probably blood) in between carapace and plastron. Closest thing I could find online to what it looks like was someone posting about their tortoise falling of a hide log and sustaining trauma, but my enclosure doesn't have anything to fall off of. It doesn't look like shell rot that I've seen before. About 2 weeks prior it started rubbing it's head on it's legs and it's skin seemed dry so I feed it more romain lettuce and soaked it a bit more.
So I have been thinking about getting a new caged animal, but am not sure what to get. I am hoping for a fairly easy animal to care for (AROUND the same "hardness level" as care for a Crested gecko), and one that doesn't need tons of (tank or cage) space. Also, I saw a Cowfish on a YouTube channel, and I thought they where cute, so I tried to find its care online, but I couldn't find anything. Nor could I find someone selling one.
My turtle is losing her skin
