Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your bird feeders once a month in winter and more often in hot and humid weather. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the tube. Then remove any hardware and clean with a solution of mild soap and water, rinsing thoroughly. Refill when completely dry.

This bird feeder withstands the winds and rain better than my previous birdfeeder. It also withstands the squirrels climbing on it to get bird food. This bird feeder is great.

We have a hummingbird feeder that has attracted the interest of many small finches and sparrows. Since they don't have the long beaks of hummingbirds and can't get much out of the hummingbird feeder, we decided to get this one. The finches show no interest in it at all, possibly because of the blue color. A big disappointment.

No, I do not recommend this product.

So far so good, sturdy, holds a lot of seed, and will accommodate larger seed types as well as smaller. Birds visited the feeder first day out

Good feeder; survives Chicago winters

I have had three of these Stokes Select Jumbo Seed Bird Feeders for several years, and my backyard birds love them. I am very satisfied with the feeders. I am somewhat surprised at how well they have lasted through a couple of Chicago Polar Vortex seasons. The feeders have been encased in sleet and ice and frozen shut a number of times, but the materials have survived with no sign of damage. All things considered, I think the jumbo feeder is a good investment – and very affordable.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great feeder! Probably hold about 5lbs of seed, so less re-filling needed. 6 openings for birds to share. My favorite, the cardinals, have no trouble using it.

It looks good - but the birds didn't come (so far). Hummingbirds come more times a day using their feeder, but I haven't seen any seed-eating bird. I hung up it far from everything, protecting from squirrels.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hello,
We are very sorry that you are not seeing birds on your new feeder. Birds are creatures of habit, and it can take them days or even weeks to use a new feeder. There is something new in the yard that they are not used to, and they need to warm up to it first.

Temporarily placing the feeder near a shrub or tree where birds will feel safe can also encourage them to explore the new feeder. We would suggest temporarily removing other feeders in the area so that the birds must use the new one. Oddly enough, filling the feeder half-full seems to help attract the birds to the new feeder.

We hope that the birds begin to use the feeder soon!

I could not get the bottom of the tube feeder open to clean it !! It says to squeeze the two tabs together and gently pull it out. I can't get it to budge at all. It was the $19.99 one. I will have to go to and buy a different style !!

Will these feeders accommodate mealworms..for my bluebirds?

    1. I have not used mealworms in this feeder but I use mixed seed including sunflower and peanuts (not in the shell) mixed with birdseed and scrub bluejays have no problem removing them. I think the mealworms will be accessible for the bluebirds but if you don't mix with seed they will clump and clog the openings.

What kind of food do I buy for this feeder?

    1. Hi Steve! The Jumbo Seed Feeder will be best at serving Sunflower seeds, Safflower seeds, and the mixed seed options. We recommend staying away from Thistle/ Nyjer seed with this feeder. I hope this was helpful. Thank you.
