It's packaged as a little whale that holds the bag. Once you open the whale and take out the bag, the whale is still attached so that you don't lose the case. The material for the bag is made out of recycled plastic bottles. It is not washable so you need to spot clean it. It says that it is made for at least 125 uses. I'm hopeful that it last longer because it is so cute. The bag has a whale and octopus on the outside and says "respect the locals". Once you no longer use it, the bag is recyclable and can go in the blue bins for recycling. The 16 by 16 size holds a few cans of cat food, a small bag of dry cat food, a few toys and a container for water. I might even throw in a few trears. I highly recommend this adorable bag if you need a travel bag for your pet. I plan to use it a good bit.
