The Starlight Bristlenose Pleco L-182 is a beautiful pleco that can be seen stuck against the glass all day cleaning off the algae. They are a very efficient algae eater and will actively clean the glass, which means less cleaning for you. This species is littered in small white spots that resemble stars in the night sky. Like most plecos, the Starlight Bristlenose has a long-life span and can grow to be quite large so be sure they have enough space. Provide lots of hiding spaces to help reduce their stress especially while they are acclimating to their new environment. They prefer a planted aquarium with plenty of water movement and aeration. Even though they love eating algae that cannot be their only food source, so provide a varied diet of algae wafers and meaty, sinking pellets.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.

Hello, good afternoon! I was curious on how to know when a pleco is asleep? I have a baby albino pleco, and he has been in the same spot about all day. I believe he is okay, he is not laying on the bottom, his mouth is stuck to the bottom of a decoration. I just thought I would ask to make sure he is alright! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

Hello, good afternoon! I was curious as to how to keep a healthy, happy pleco? I just received a baby albino pleco, we got algae wafers, as well as the other algae that grows in the tank, I have a couple questions, how do I tell I’m feeding him enough, how can I let him stay happy and healthy, how do I give him a great, long life, how do I tell when he is sleeping, and how ca I tell when he is sick, I’m not to familiar with pleco sicknesses and diseases. Thank you so much, I appreciate you!

Best foods for 29gallon tank with 4Rosaline Sharks, 4Congo Tetras, 1large bushy nosed plecostamus. Vitamins?
Hi, I had a bettas fish and a clown pleco. A day after doing a complete cleaning of the tank, my better fish died and my pleco started acting weird. I tested the water. Ph 7, ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 0. He is not eating, his skin started to look like white, like shedding? And now is like coming off. Also, his belly is bloated. I attached pictures.
I’m getting a 20 gallln tank and I would like to know what are the best tropical freshwater fish that I could get? I would like to get a pleco, but he would get to big for my tank, so I’m wondering if I could donate him to my locomotive petco in The Dalles Oregon? Thank you I love PetCoach!!!
