Beet Pulp Dilemma

GiddyUp K

I have been feeding horses beet pulp pellets (soaked) for over 20 years. I just purchased 40lbs bag. Pellets were brownish not same color used to...and when soaked didn't absorb or fluff up like normal?? Questioned date of bag??? If still ok to feed??? Tried calling 1800 # didn't get anywhere?? Very frustrating and unhappy. Stopping product now until I hear back. Do not want Sick horses.

I've been using this for years, but lately the color is off and it won't absorb the water like normal. There is a little brown tinge to the product. Smells okay and the horses are eating it, but it is just a different consistency.

Pellets are great!

Overall, I was very happy with these beer pulp pellets. I would say the biggest downside to them is their size- I wish they were a little smaller. Nutrition wise though, I feel like they were highly palatable- not turned down by any of my animals. I do feel like it kept my mare’s condition well and added a little weight to her. I am continuing these pellets.
