Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

Alfalfa Grab & Go Compressed Bales are formed by allowing Standlee forage to grow to the proper stage of maturity, cutting the plants, allowing them to sun-cure (dry) to an acceptable moisture level and baling the forage at the optimal time. Alfalfa forage is low in sugar, moderately high in protein, high in calories and digestible fiber. Recommended For: Growing (rapid growth) and underweight horses, horses with sensitivity to carbohydrates, horses with gastric ulcers and late pregnancy and lactating mares.

  • - Low in sugar/starch
  • - Natural forage length mimics grazing
  • - Slow intake, stimulates chewing and minimizes digestive upset
  • - Easy to feed and store

BEWARE STANDLEE HAY! HAS RODENTS AND OPPOSUMS

Horselover23

I bought over 50 bales of standlee alfalfa hay from Petco. I had it stocked in my barn a while. I got tired of throwing out standlee alfalfa hay that contained squished rats and opossums which can cause EMP a serious disease in horses. I contacted the manufacturer standlee and was shoved off with one coupon for a free bale. I told them that after having to throw away a huge amount of hay we need compensation coupons or replacement or something. They refused and admitted that their hay has been found with rodents in it that went through the compressor machine. This is disgusting and can make animals sick. I contacted Petco customer service and they replaced only 3 bales out of the 50 bales purchased from them. I even sent pictures. As many know horse people stock hay in the barn for winter in advance so by the time we find out the hay is contaminated the 30 day warranty is out. I lost so much 💲s purchasing this hay. Just putting it out there that people need to be aware of this issue.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We bought this for a horse before our national horse show to beef them up a little bit and it worked great.

These are a great weed free bale that can be easily, and cleanly transported even in a car. I have fed them when locally grown hay was not available.

I just bought an excellent bale - good color and free of dust. The last couple I bought were a bit dusty so glad to see the usual great product I normally purchase

I buy these bales whenever we will be away from home. They are so convenient and easy to use. The plastic protects then while we travel and since they are compressed, they take up little space. My horses start nickering when they see me bringing this hay!

I bought this for my OTTB at first but then gave a chunk to my guinea fowls. They both love it and it's nice to have a product that doubles when you have as many animals as I do. I like the grab and go bales because I absolutely HATE having hay all over my trunk and this keeps my daily driver car clean.

I horse camp, you never know what kind of forage you’ll encounter away from home. To keep things simple and consistent, I use the Grab & Go bales. I pull my trailer with an SUV, so finding a spot to put hay used to be a big stress. With a Grab & Go I can put them in my car no problem, no mess.
