Plastic pet carriers are more complicated to put together in current times. I suspect they are imported from asian countires. They are not as sturdy as they were 10 years ago and assembly is somewhat ridiculous. But we have to get what we can get.

Bought this a month ago from Petco. It is very poorly constructed. If you look at the photo of this carrier on the website, the lower right "wingnut" that it is supposed to lock the gate/door closed is cheap plastic. That's the same issue as the one in the photo, how ironic!!!It pops out at the slightest movement and my dog is off and running. I was thinking of naming my dog Houdini, because he keeps escaping when we put him in but it's not his fault, it's this poorly made crate. An update needs to done to rectify the issue with the wingnuts being so flexible that it can be manipulated to unsnap and cause the door to be loose and ultimately fall off.

It’s light weight, and affordable, but my 6 lb chihuahua can push the door open when ever she wants., and she is crate trained, so she is not putting a lot of effort into this.

Easy and quick to assemble (1 minute, no tools) and a solid, light carrier for a cat or small dog. Great value for the money.

In less than four trips this carrier broke. The turn style bolts that lock the two halves together have a thin plastic hook/nob that sheared off of one side while I was lifting the carrier to reposition it in my car. Fortunately I was still in my driveway at the time, but needless to say I would have lost my cat if we had been in the vet's parking lot instead. My cat only weighs 7lbs and could not have been responsible for the failure. Unfortunately I lost my receipt so I just tossed the carrier. Normally I don't bother with negative reviews, but this is actually a dangerous Item. Do NOT use this carrier or any others designed like it unless your pet is also in a harness and on a leash you have a hold of.

How big is the bar spacing? I want to use this as a travel cage for some of my smaller birds. If its an inch or bigger they can escape.

I would not use this carrier for small birds, even if the bars are set close enough, there is a gap under the handle... it is a cheaply made carrier.

No. Not at all. I am right here at the front of the American Airline Cargo, they just rejected me to ship my cat because of this kennel
