Questions
Is this safe for transporting a large (over 20 lbs) cat from the car to a motel room or vet's office- can it be used as a carrier or do I have to put him in a carrier to transport him from car to the indoors
- No, this isn't safe to transport an animal like a hard carrier. It's basically wire framing and mesh/nylon fabric. There is no solid bottom so it would collapse into the weight of the animal when lifted.

- Don't see reason why not .... My cats love it. .... But not best carrier for travelling ...

Is it okay for cats with claws. Are the sides strong enough if cats claw at the side?
- It’s kind of like tent material - a cat’s claws could definitely snag or even tear through it. We’ve been testing ours out with letting our cats hang out inside it in the house and they’ve scratched around but haven’t damaged it.

- See my other answer to more recent question - it can definitely get snagged or torn by claws but we haven’t seen too much damage yet from our two cats who have been playing in it in the house!

- It’s not really a cage - more like a little cat tent to contain them in the car. Yes - works well for cats.
