My 15-year-old Westy , I’ve been told by my vet only has 25% kidney function. What should I expect during this time for my Dear dear friend she has been with me for last 15 years we’ve lived together we are a team. Is there any medication like tri heart plus thats around the same price point i need to get my dogs their medication and not even my vet is being helpful since they only want to sell me the Heartgard even tho i've told them i can not afford that medication at the time they do not wanna give me the generic and i need it asap since they are being potty trained outdoors.

My dog currently takes Hollistic remedies ( calc c and homotox mixed with things such as ubich, apis, etc. due to autoimmune disease which caused swelling of hind legs. He has been off of prednisone for 2 months and suddenly his hind legs became swollen over night. Is it safe to give him licorice root as an alternative to prednisone?
11 year old chihuahua has cushings disease (2 years) and gets treatment from holistic vet. She is on 2x6 drops of trilostane a day (down from 14 drops x2) plus natural medicine. She is very alert, loves walking, but her back legs are lame and front legs are very weak. She visits vet every 6 weeks. Ashley walks 15-20 min. daily, but seeing her falling over is heart breaking. 17 yr, 11.8 lb, cat has kidney dysfnct. On 1/24 she showed symptoms of inner ear prob or vestibular. My vet prescribed Cerenia but it can only be given 1x in 24 hrs and it wears off at about 12 hrs. So, vet added half a tab of meclizine to her regimen, but it seems like it makes her restless(?) Gets up and moves from sleeping place to place every 30m or so. Is it ok to mix the 2 drugs? Where can I look for effects of meclizine on cats. Symptoms are head tilt, falls, staggers. Appetite is fair.
My Shih Tzu, 14.5 years old has an enlarged heart. X-Ray shows about twice the size. He's on VetMedin and Fortekor and has now spills for the fluid buildup. He is breathing heavier than normal, but is activ and eats well. What else can I do to help him ?
