Is this safe for a 5 month old kitten?
- Though our formulas were not specifically designed for kittens, all are suitable for feeding…just not as the only part of the diet. The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) sets forth nutritional info in pet foods. According to AAFCO, the primary difference between kitten and adult cat food is that kittens require higher protein. As our foods are protein focused, they make a nice option for feeding kittens as part of the overall diet. Our vitamin and mineral content is okay for kittens as well. Our formulas are lower in fat than many brands, so our overall calorie content is likely lower than most kitten food. Kittens need a lot of calories, so as long as a kitten is getting enough good calories, our foods can be used daily as part of the diet along with kitten specific food.
