Good product. Love the adjustability of each of the 3 bars and the fact it only takes a few minutes to set up and even less to disassemble. Only downside is the taller you make it the less sturdy it becomes. Though there isn’t really a way to eliminate that. Vertical adjustable bottom supports fit inside main vertical tubes. I use it from floor to ceiling in the backseat of my Hyundai Santa Cruz to keep my 80 lb OE bulldog off the console & trying to ride shotgun. He’s too strong for flimsy products that only connect to the front seats. This product also allows him to still see me, unlike some hammock style backseat covers. If used in a cargo area of vehicle (shorter vertical distance) like it’s intended I’m sure it’s much sturdier.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good purchase...

I initially received a defective unit, but these things happen. After a quick chat with their customer service they sent another one out right away. So great customer service. The replacement unit went together very easily. It was not an ideal fit in my car (Honda Fit, 2013), but it DOES fit. I will probably do a bit of modification to the uprights so the top 'feet' can sit at an angle along the car ceiling so I can use it with the back seats still in the upright position. My dog doesn't ACTIVELY try to get through the bars, so I cannot truly attest to their restraining power. But without this my dog WOULD be up in the drivers area, so it works for me. No excessive rattling even on bumpy roads... no more than another other add-on to a vehicle. I have noticed that after a few trips you will want to re-tighten the crossbar supports to keep everything in place. They don't come loose right away or anything, but they can loosen a bit over time. Overall it does what I need it to do... just don't think you are getting something custom made that will solve all your problems. Every car is different, so anything 'universal' must be taken with a grain of salt.

This fit neither of my cars and felt very cheap. One of the wingnuts in the box was inoperable. The instructions were confusing as well. I deemed tolerating my dogs while driving more suitable than dealing with this product. Very disappointing.

Black lab WORKS!!

Very happy with this product! We have a 9 month old black lab that was constantly wanting to come up in the front. We have a new Nissan Titan, and this product works very well! We did decide to put a 2x6 piece of wood under each leg to make it sturdier. She has accepted it very well, and has not even tried to get to the front since we installed it. THANK YOU!!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This pet barrier had many parts to assemble. The directions weren’t especially helpful. I was looking for something more simple.

Questions

Do I need to put it against the seat or is it sturdy enough?

  1. It probably depends on your dog. My mother’s Great Dane could push it lose without really trying if it wasn’t tight against the back seat - just by moving around and changing positions. But, most dogs are not that big. It might be fine with a smaller dog if it’s away from the seat.

Can I get replacement cross bars and mounts?

  1. Thank you for your question! We do have some replacement parts available for this barrier. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at 1-800-732-2677 so that we might assist you with these options.

Would it fit in my 2014 Nissan Xterra?

  1. It depends on where you want to put it. The uprights are 36" plus a couple of inches for the top and bottom caps. I have a Prius and had to put it just behind the front seats with the posts extended to the floor.

Will this fit in a Jeep Sahara

  1. I'm not sure how much room you have, but I drive a Dodge Journey & it wouldn't fit in my cargo area.

Will this pet barrier fit in a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV in the way back? I just bought the SUV last night and have a Golden Retriever who loves to chew and destroyed my last car. The back of the Tiguan is slanted and not as tall as a Ford Explorer.

  1. The barrier that I purchased is completely adjustable from the cross bars to the height and has kept my English Springer Spaniel in the very back of my brand new Durango for more than two months now. It was easy to install and is easy to remove and replace if you need to.

will fit a Chevy eqiunox

I am looking for a barrier to use in my Chrysler Town and Country, for our two dogs. Has anyone used this product in a minivan, placed behind the 2nd row with the 3rd row folded down? Thank you!

Will this fit in the cargo area of a 2018 4Runner?

Will this fit in a mid-size 4D sedan?

        1. Hi Hannahboss, This can be adjusted to 32-49" high x 33-57" wide so it could possibly fit. Thanks

Will this work in a Subaru Crosstrek, they have one available for the other models, just not the Crosstrek?

        1. Hi bailee28, Yes, this could fit. This is adjustable from 32-49" high x 33-57" wide to fit most every vehicle. Thanks
