The PetSafe Happy Ride Compact Telescoping Dog Ramp. Weighing only 14 pounds, this ramp is easy for you to carry and lift in and out of your vehicle. Although light, the strong, durable aluminum ramp can support the largest four-legged friends up to 300 pounds. Solid, compact well built product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid, compact well built product. I wanted a compact light weight ramp and after comparing about 5 products I I found this to be the smallest and lightest. After using it the only thing is it is a little tight and stiff to open and I for my wife its a little challenging but as far as I could see it is the lightest, best functioning ramp on the market and it fold up to the smallest size considering it is a 72 inch ramp. The only smaller are for small ramps for smaller cars rather than the back of SUV's. All in all I am happy and I hope it will loosen up after use.

Easy to use, very stable. Just wish it was maybe a 3 or 4 inches wider to give a little more stability to dogs that have a wider gait or any hind leg issues.

We received the telescoping dog ramp for larger dogs in May. Our GSD is aging and was showing a little discomfort when jumping out of the rear of our Volvo Sport Wagon. It's a great ramp and it came with helpful hints on how to acclimate your dog to use it, but I remember looking at the little plastic strap with a button type latch and thinking "That's never going to last..." and, it didn't. In August, the strap broke, so I have to be careful with moving the ramp around, or it will start sliding open. Had I reviewed this upon first use of the ramp, it would have been 5 stars, but due to this issue, I only rate it 3 stars. To be fair, I have not contacted the company, to see if they will provide a replacement part, nor have I tried to use a bungee cord to keep the ramp from opening while moving, both of which might be solutions...

No, I do not recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This took a while for my older dog to start using. She was scared since it was something new. She has a problem with her hip and limps badly when she is tired. After using this for a couple of weeks, she was able to get in and out of our van without any trouble and would actually limp less once she started using it. We love it and we love that it helps her hurt less.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Triscope Ramp is a great concept in helping pets get into a vehicle or up to any high surface. It was easy to setup right out of the box. No assembly needed. Unhook safety latch and the ramp extends out and connects your surface where you want to use the ramp. There is a non-slip coating on the ramp which makes it easier for the dogs paws to grip while walking on it. The ramp folds back up with practically no effort and is easy to store. Getting your dog to use the ramp is another step all in itself. After trying to train my two dogs to use this ramp, I was successful in getting one of them to finally walk up the ramp. The other dog still proceeds to just sit on the ramp motionless each time I place him there, regardless of the treat I am offering on the other end. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a portable ramp they can take anywhere.

I have a tall bed with only 3" clearance off the floor how high is it when fully extended would like to put under bed when not in use?

    When closed for storage this ramp will be about 5" wide. You would not be able to slide it under your bed based on the information provided.

Will this ramp fit in the back doorway of a truck? Every other ramp I have tried does not fit in the doorway due to the way the door opens

What is the material of the walking surface and is it weathrproof?

    Thank you for this question, William! The surface of the ramp is a high traction material similar to skateboard tape; it has been tested to be safe and comfortable for paws, and still provide traction. It would not be damaged by use in rain, and has been tested in temperatures of 64.4-131 Fahrenheit; we would not recommend installing the ramp outside as a permanent fixture, but brought out for use as needed.
