Seems good but came with defect

This seems like a really nice ramp. It's nice and wide and has a gentle slope. It's the first ramp I was able to get my skittish lab to use! It is big and heavy, but if you have a older/ larger dog who doesn't like stairs/ramps, it seems to be worth it. However, it arrived with a broken snap, so it can't be locked in the closed position. I'm hoping it was just a defective one and will exchange it for another. Customer service was super friendly and helpful with this process. I'll update this review when I get the replacement ramp.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Steady and reliable for my great pyre to use. I would buy again. Just be aware to finger safety as it glides very easily and quickly.

Amazing ramp, super happy with it

This ramp is both light and strong, and works very well. I actually ran over the edge of it with my big diesel truck and it didn't even hurt it, other than scuffing the sandpaper, which was amazing. The dogs seem happy with the sandpaper-like surface. My 9-yr-old 110-pound dog does fine. It is not wobbly at all even when fully extended. I bought it because I needed a lighter one, and I'm really impressed! Thanks for carrying this good product.

Poor traction for 100 lb. Shepherd

Tried my German Shepherd who has weak rear legs on this. No traction, and she slides down, so am returning it. Will try to find one with a carpeted or non-slip surface.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good quality but hot in the sun

I got this for my 75 lb Chocolate Lab who just had ACL surgery, because the one my husband had made was too rickety and narrow. The ramp is plenty wide enough and very well-made and sturdy. I have it over my back porch steps and it is long enough to make the incline not too steep. The reason for the 4 stars is it gets hot in direct sunlight. A lighter color surface would be better. Another reason is there is nothing to lock it in place once it is telescoped, but it will stay in place if you leave it alone. I would buy it again.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The Best!

Our 11 year old 85 pound golden doodle has no trouble at all using this ramp to get into our high SUV! We were sure that it would be a struggle, but he is not afraid at all as it is very sturdy and has a good grip surface. Thank you for a quality product! Well worth the money!! PS It extends long enough that the incline is less steep. Pogo is happy!

Yes, I recommend this product.

My 12 year old Lab was starting to have difficulty getting in and out of the car. I could not lift him, and when I tried, he didn't like it. His favorite walk is a car ride away. When I observed another dog owner using a ramp, I knew that's what we needed. This ramp is everything it says in the description. It is easy to use and take with. Following the instructions on how to introduce your dog to the ramp, the transition to using it was easy. Now we can go where ever we want. I have a happy dog getting in and out of the car!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Doesn't fit in side door of CR-V

The ramp itself appears to be of good quality, but it does not fit in side door of 2003 or 2008 Honda CR-V because door does not open wide enough, thus the side door adapter I bought is useless. Very disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

is this case for the extra long ramp?

  1. Hi toby333, This is not for the extra long ramp. We suggest that you contact Petsafe directly. Thanks,

How would you secure ramp to stairs so ramp didn’t slip while pet was using it?

  1. DIRTYANN, Thank you for your question. The advanced design of the ramp "locks" itself when weight is applied, so there is no need for extra devices to lock the ramp in position. Also surface is a separate peel and stick layer made from same material as sandpaper. It has rubber feet on both upper an lower ends.

Would a ramp be helpful to a 4 year old pit-mix who has I.V.D.D.?

  1. Not sure on the exact spinal area of your dog's back problem, but this ramp extends far out & therefore a gradual incline may be of benefit to you. My 75lb Old English Bulldogge has arthritis in both rear legs & this ramp works great w/ my Chevy Tahoe.

Can this ramp be used outside for extended time?

  1. I don't see why not. I've used it in the rain- still works fine. Length of time was only about 15 minutes though.

Will this ramp work with a Silverado truck?

  1. I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, same frame as the Silverados. This ramp extends far out & my 75lb Bulldogge has arthritis in both rear legs & this incline is very gradual. Check out the dimensions of your bumper height to my Tahoe bumper. If it is the same, it will work!

What is the material at the top of the ramp that secures the ramp to the vehicle?

  1. We didn't feel that it fit well on the seat and instead put it on the side floor next to the seat and that works well. It is still easy for our dog as it is only a small step up. The end of the ramp is plastic with two rubber feet. One on each side. I hope that this helps.

Does this ramp work well for side entry into an SUV's back seat?

  1. I would think it should sit just fine on the floor of your back seat. I would be hesitant to place it on the seat, just in case it were to slip off of that type of surface of your seats. I place it on my rear bumper, Chevy Tahoe, and it will not slide or move on the plastic of my bumper.

What is the surface of this ramp made of? Sandpaper or rubber?

  1. It is a sandpaper feeling. My dog was a little weary at first but for the short time span she is actually climbing up or down it she doesn't seem to mind.

I need a ramp for our camper will the telescopic ramp work?

  1. Should work fine. Ramp's width is not larger than neighbor's camper door.

Can I use this for my passenger car?

  1. Probably not. Your side doors won't open wide enough to place the ramp inside.
