We have an older cat who has suffered from loose bowels for a long time. He LOVES this food. It has both firmed up his stool consistency and reduced the odor. I wish it came in a larger can and wasn't as expensive.

I wanted to love this, more importantly, I wanted my cats to love it, though they are not fans of pate, nor this food. It is NOT chunks or slices or anything and definitely not "in gravy" it is definitely more of a chunky pate. If you break it up a little it does have very few "slices", maybe 2? If you mix or break it up too much it mushes, like pate. Aside from that, my 2 finicky cats took one sniff and walked away. I piled it back in the can and took to my mom's house to feed it to her cats. One sniffed and walked away, the other took maybe 3 bites and was finished. Maybe if this is something you start out feeding your cat, they will love it. I love the ingredients. I just wish my cats loved it too.

My cat developed some unknown food sensitivity that took us months to figure out. We ended up switching to this wet food on a whim since he has done well with duck and pumpkin in the past. We have never ever looked back! We love you solid gold! Honestly looks like a canned chicken pate for humans. It also has helped him lose some extra weight that his old food had packed on him. I do have to say, it isn’t really “chunks in gravy” like you would see in a fancy feast can. It’s shreds of real mean in a thickened broth so it looks more like a pate and the end of the day.

I specifically made a search for only canned grain free wet cat food in chunks or in pieces of various sizes because my cat ABHORS pate. She will only eat it after a hunger strike, something I decidedly do not believe to be good for her health to continuously do so. I have bought solid gold before and there were chunks in previous cans. I am hoping this to be just a bad batch that got cooked too long. The Chicken & Liver as well as the Turkey & Pumpkin Chunks in gravy cans were also pate like. Come on, do better!
