Ok paper bedding litter

This soft paper bedding is ok. My only complaint is that it's not dust free. I have a ferret. Ferret have very sensitive respiratory systems.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Inaccurate description of product - beware

I thought this stuff was great until I received a bag that was unlike the others I’d had, it was hard, obviously less processed etc and smelled different. I decided to do my digging and learned that even though there’s no mention of baking soda in it it does contain baking soda. This isn’t safe for all animals it is marketed for. It really should be stated on the packaging.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I prefer the name brand bedding

I tried this one for a few bedding changes but decided the name brand just works better and switched back. This one is soft and absorbent, but doesn’t control the odor for as many days between changes. I have a girl gang of four mice in a 40gal tank. I use a 50/50 mix of paper bedding and aspen shavings. With the So Phresh, I would notice the smell of the mice when I went to play with them around day 7 after a change. With the name brand, I don’t notice the smell until day 10-12. I like to wait about 14 days to change the bedding so the mice aren’t stressed too often. If you have a smaller habitat, or pets that choose a pee corner (rather than peeing anywhere like mice) you probably won’t be able to tell the difference!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Horrible Dust

Leigha Bly

I bought this bedding about 2 months ago in store and just now used it after my last bedding ran out. I bought this bedding because it was the biggest bag and cheaper. Little did I know how dusty and dirty it was. I had a giant clump of dust the size of my hand. Bought a different bedding and will be immediately changing out the bedding. I feel horrible for putting my hamster in here, but I had no other choice at the moment and I thought it would be safer then soiled bedding, little did I know. Thank God it's only been 2 days because my hamster was covered in dust when I took her out to let her play in her play pin! She was even sneezing. Absolutely awful. How can a company create this for a small animal that easily gets raspatory infections? Petco needs to take this off their shelves. This is why I don't buy from Petco that often. I know this is a third party product, but come on.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great product, most other paper liters I have used are messy. This one is great because it breaks off in chunks avoids tons of mess.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Why does the label not recommend this for birds? Supposedly, it is just paper. Thanks

  1. From what I understand you need to monitor your bird's droppings to figure out their general health. Since this is chunks of paper, it is hard to do that since alot of the mess would be absorbed into the paper. It is also easier for them to eat this and it wouldn't be digested all the way.

does this product have baking soda in it?

  1. It contains baking soda

Is this product safe for chinchillas?

  1. Absolutely not. Chinchillas, due to in breeding, have exceptionally delicate digestive tracts. They're prone to chewing like most rodents, and when combined with saliva will expand and create a blockage in the chin which will either result in a complete blockage, a prolapse, or at the very least will be very traumatic for your chin's normal body functions. The safest bedding is aspen, kiln dried pine, fleece, or ceramic tile.

Is it safe for my rabbit to eat baking soda in sophresh?

  1. No it is not.
