Smells fresh longer than paper bedding and my piggies seem to prefer it. They popcorn while I’m changing their bedding when I use it. Doesn’t get soaked when I put their veggie it either.

This is actually better than what I was using before. My Guinea likes to play in it and it has better odor control. You get a lot more product and you pay less than other brands. I will definitely buy this natural softwood again!

Have you changed maunufactures for this product? In the past year, I have returned bags back for hard sharp point pieces and it is full of dust. I have to use a strainer to shift the dust out before placing it in their cages. The quality of this product is not what it once was!

    This item is not safe for small animals. There are unfortunately a lot of products marketed towards small animals that are in fact not safe for them. You cannot go off of what companies or packaging says and have to do your own research. This is the same for treats, food, other types of bedding and cages that all say they are safe for certain animals and are not. Do not buy this bedding for hamsters, chinchillas, rabbits or guinea pigs unless you are willing to risk their health.

I'm looking for an alternative to clay cat litter, something that does not clump and is very light. Can I use this in my cat's litter box?

    Hi.I have been using this softwood bedding for cat litter as the clay cat litter was making my cats sick.They were licking the clay( ingesting it)off their coats and getting blood in their urine..This softwood litter is ok it serves the perpose -it's not perfect.It has to be cleaned daily and gets on their fur and scatters all over the house,but I'm sticking with it as my cats are much healthier.
