This cat litter mat is amazing. I have an older cat that kicks litter everywhere. She cannot use an enclosed box. This mat catches it and makes cleanup easier. I thought the size would be too big but it is actually perfect.

Good for kitty feet, good for floor protection!
This is the So Phresh Cat Litter Trapper Mat (the brown one). I put the grey one next to it to show the SIGNIFICANT difference between how each ‘catch’ the litter. Since I have multiple kitties, the size (24”x36”) is perfect for both boxes. It is super easy to shake out & the kitties seem to like the texture in their feet once they’ve finished their business. Any cat owner knows that a real thing! Definitely an upgrade.

BEST Litter Trapper Mat!
This litter trapper mat is the BEST we have used, having tried 3 other brands. It is thick, durable and really catches the litter. I would say at least 98% of litter stays on mat. Happy that the color matched our bathroom too!

Clean
The mat is heavy, the litter is being caught. I lay it vertically as my cats will rush straight out. So the width wasn’t long enough. But with the adjusted layout. It fits the area perfectly, and I barely have to clean anything up.

I loved the first one so much I bought another one
This is the second mat I’ve bought and I had to leave another review. The first one is used as a scratch mat, this one I put by the litter box and it’s amazing. I used to find litter in all the places my cats lay but I haven’t seen a trace of litter since I got this, and the area around the litter box is clean. I highly recommend it!

The BEST scratcher for my babies!
The 2 cats I adopted exclusively lived outdoors. After they became exclusively indoor cats, I was really concerned about their ability to maintain their claws. They didn’t take to the vertical sisal tower or the horizontal cardboard scratcher. When I brought this home they both used it immediately. I’ve been seeing a lot of little claw shavings around and when they’re makin’ biscuits on my belly it’s not as painful so this mat is definitely doing the trick! I haven’t used it as a litter mat yet but I’m going to get a couple more and put one next to the litter box.

What makes this different from a regular jute rug?

Can you cut this mat? I have a litter box house and I need to fit this on the second floor.
- It’s a bit thick and has a 1/2” thread border. I believe it could be cut but I’m not sure if it would start coming apart/unraveling.

Any idea on how to clean it? Kitty had an accident just outside the box on it.
- I sprayed the mat thoroughly with an enzymatic cat mess cleaner (like Nature's Miracle), allow to soak for a few minutes, then hosed thoroughly outdoors with a strong jet of water. I then allowed it to dry outdoors, ideally in direct sunlight, for 24 hours. The result was the mat was almost good as new, with no detectable urine smell. It's remarkable to me that the jute is easier to deodorize than rubberized/plastic mats, which seem to keep urine odors trapped even after cleaning.

does it have any padding on the other side so it doesn’t slide?
- There is no traditional grip on the back side so it will slide a little bit if your cat springs onto it or peels out, like my cats who think they are movie stuntmen. A piece of rug gripper that you can get from Target or other retailers that sell rugs should do the trick.
